President Edgar Lungu says he is not the right person to decide over the fate of Miles Sampa who has applied to be readmitted into the PF.
President Lungu said as much as he has forgiven Mr Samoa and forgotten all the insults he directed at him, the ultimate decision over his application lies in the hands in the party’s Central Committee.
“Remember I spoke at the thanksgiving rally we had at Woodlands Stadium and I said those that are coming, the Central Committee would have to determine, I don’t want to prejudice anyone’s chance of coming back to the party but the truth of the matter is that my eyes are on the ball and the ball is to take the country forward and develop,” President Lungu said.
“You know there are a lot of people who insulted us, called us names but I can neither say the party has forgiven them or forgotten because it does not lie within me as a person. It lies in the party, it’s a matter we leave to the party., for me I forgive and forget and move on but the party is bigger than Edgar Lungu,” he said.
And President Lungu says the UPND is free to take the matter of the presidential petition to the International Court of Justice as long as they follow the law.
“They are free to go any where as long as they follow the law, we have no problem and we will not stop them,’ President Lungu said.
I feel for Sampa.
Wonder why he can’t just be a private citizen. Life is not all about politics.
Christians hands are never tied. Forgive him and let him come back. He has suffered enough embarrassment. You are leading a Christian nation. We dont keep grudges.

I know Sampa is long forgiven by the party leadership. However, the issue of his application to be readmitted must be subjected to a due diligence process in a spirit of sober deliberation the party leadership can exercise. He should be soon or later readmitted as an ordinary member but kept quarantined for a long time from leadership till he proves his authenticity for an unconditional membership of his former party. I think any short circuit to his re-joining of the mainstream party leadership ranks would be a dangerous precedence that may only embolden a culture of unparalleled indiscipline Sampa espouses today.
That’s the problem of lack of pride and integrity. Muselela kwakaba is a chronic disease. Miles, you cannot live your life on your knees.

The issue here is not only about forgiving but welcoming him back which is what others have think about.
I don’t know what you would do your after forgiving a person who robbed your house but they have asked forgiveness.

Not sure he was asked about insults more so than he was asked about Sampa’s return, but I wasn’t there – he didn’t have to mention the so called insults if he was genuine in his statement. Obviously you wouldn’t be able to see through the hypocrisy in the guy since you are a self confessed lover boy of him so I guess let’s just leave it there.

Coming to the issue of forgiveness, if you cannot remember what you are forgiving someone for then why should you even forgive! You remember the wrongs someone does to you in order for you to claim that you have forgiven whether that is for real or not.

This should teach Miles Sampa that political prostitution ultimately leaves you exposed and vulnerable. Ambition has to be tempered with wisdom. Having left PF, he should have stayed with HH.
