Northern Province Permanent Secretary Hlobotha Nkunika has expressed satisfaction with the performance of many Citizen Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) beneficiaries in the region.
Mr. Nkunika said many capital projects that were funded by government through the CEEC have been successful and are performing well.
He said this when he visited Chengelo School of Nursing in Kasama district which was established using CEEC funds.
He revealed that the nursing school was one of the institutions that have managed to pay back the loan in good time and were performing very well.
Mr. Nkunika said this shows that many citizens were putting government money to good use.
He has since encouraged other CEEC beneficiaries to emulate Chengelo School of Nursing if they were to excel in the business.
And speaking at the same event, CEEC Regional Coordinator Walusungu Banda disclosed that the commission has approved another loan for Chengelo School of Nursing to enable it build a modern lecture room and othersupporting facilities.
Mr. Banda added that the decision to approve another loan was made because of the compliance by the institution in paying back the loan.
He further said the commission will not hesitate to give additional funds to beneficiaries who are putting money to good use in the area.
Meanwhile, Chengelo School of Nursing Director Baton Mugala thanked government for showing commitment in empowering people economically in the area.
Mr. Mugala further thanked government for a good working relation with the private sector in the district.
