The Patriotic Front has accused Senior Chief Mukuni of the Toka Leya people of Southern Province of viciously attacking President Edgar Lungu and the PF government because his business partner Hakainde Hichilema lost the election.
Party Deputy Spokesperson Frank Bwalya accused the traditional leader of being bitter because his Business partner Hakainde Hichilema lost the 2016 General elections.
Mr. Bwalya advised Chief Mukuni to desist from unfairly attacking President Edgar Lungu and the PF Government if he is to continue commanding the respect he deserves as a traditional leader.
Chief Mukuni of the Toka Leya people of Southern Province was recently quoted in some sections of the media as having charged that the PF government under President Edgar Lungu had failed to deliver development.
But Mr Bwalya said the traditional leader was a known business partner of the UPND leader who should come out in the open and stop hiding behind his wife who is a member of the opposition party and openly campaigned for the UPND.
He said the only reason the traditional leader was misleading Zambians on the performance of President Edgar Lungu and the PF government was because he had taken a partisan stance.
He called on the traditional leader “to do what is expected of a chief” by respecting and working with the government of the day.
He said the traditional leader has no choice but to recognize and work with the government of the day which is the PF led by President Edgar Lungu.
