THE Zambia Police Service are still pursuing Punji Chona Malata and
Caroline Munyumbwe, former teachers of Katete Primary School
in Katete District who are on the run for allegedly involving
themselves into voter buying in Chipangali Constituency in Chipata
District.

Eastern Province Police Commissioner Alex Chilufya said on Tuesday that
police were hunting for the former teachers who were on ‘police wanted
list’.
Mr Chilufya said the two were on the run adding that people with
information of the whereabouts of the culprits must inform the
police.
“The police are searching for the two people who are on the run.We are
hoping that we shall soon apprehend them so that they can answer to the
criminal charges,” he said.

Recently Eastern Province Permanent Secretary Chanda Kasolo announced
that Government fired the two teachers of Katete Primary School in
Eastern Province who were on the run for allegedly supporting the
United Party for National Development (UPND) by involving themselves
into voter buying.

Mr Kasolo stated that it was clear that any Government worker who has
been absent from work for 10 days without permission was automatically
dismissed from the service.

Mr Chilufya also said police were yet to bring UPND national deputy
Chairperson for youth and sports development Michael Chuzu from Lusaka
for issuing a statement that the party does not recognise President
Edgar Lungu as a Republic President.

Mr Chuzu issued a statement on Chipata Television (CTV) alleging that
the opposition political party does not recognise President Lungu as
Republican President.

He explained that officers were by today expected to get Mr Chuzu out
of Lusaka so that he answers to the charge.

Mr Chilufya also described the conditions of two police officers who
were shot in Lusaka and are currently admitted at Levy Mwanawasa
hospital as being stable.

He said the condition of detective sergeant Martine Kapolyo who was in
the Intensive Care Unit and Detective Chief Inspector Jovas Chilumbu
was stable.
Mr Chilufya said police would transport the remains of Geoffrey Banda
who was shot after burial arrangements have been made from Levy
Mwanawasa Hospital mortuary.

  1. police has nothing important to do than chasing after innocent people from the opposition?what happened to the case if max who was caught with a gun and a group of goons in eastern province, why is he still free,i have no idea where zambia is headed

    • Ati innocent people! They wanted to disenfranchise some people and you call the innocent. Why are they hiding if they have done no wrong. To the extent of losing their jobs sure!

    • All these are the actions of PF cadres in police uniforms trying hard harm any one suspected of openly supporting UPND and HH.

This is how ethnic cleansing starts. The allegations are false as the truth about this issue is that these people are key witnesses to the petition in which some PF official inflated G12 figures in Eastern province. Any one who is deemed a witness in the PF election rigging are being pursued by the Lungu and his dogs in police uniform.

Out of confusion the PF cadres in police uniforms have started killing each other. I am sure the PF cadres were given instructions to shoot those UPND petition witnesses on site.Unfortunately God is on their side and the PF cadres in police uniforms have ended up killing their own.

      Chagwa a zagwa mange mange.

    • I was hoping to hear more update on the slaying of a Police Officer. That Officer was probably high on the weed he had confiscated on the day, paranoid as F. It seems who ever this guy is ati Eastern Province Police Commissioner, does not value he’s colleagues.

  2. Please never compare our party members to Max so called…he is a gun for hire fueled by the likes of current Agriculture Minister and now she doesn’t know how to get him off her back. We should discourage our party members from engaging in lawlessness as the law will visit you…think for once ok now they are on the run where is the party leadership? its in court or addressing useless press conferences at their houses which they call state house… will these our members receive legal support? Never….so what’s the use of going disorder? HH will not come to your aid..so lets kick him out its time for change…2012 Zambia Forward

  3. I AM REALLY WORRIED ABOUT MY COUNTRY, ARE WE SAYING IF HH OR WHOEVER HAD WON THE ELECTIONS, THEN THEY NEEDED TO FIRE ALL THOSE CIVIL SERVANTS WHO SUPPORTED PF? COME ON ZAMBIA, WE CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS. EMMANUEL MWAMBA AND GROUP WHO ARE CIVIL SERVANTS, WHERE HEAVILY INVOLVED IN THIS ELECTION. WE ALREADY HAVE A SHORTAGE OF TEACHERS & THEN WE SHOULD FIRE THE FEW WE HAVE? TO ME THIS IS MORE EVIL. ECL ONCE STATED THAT HE WAS NOT GOING TO SETTLE SCORES

    • Lungu is a hypocrite who says one thing and does the opposite. He says he is a Christian but his actions are definitely Satanic.

  4. Investigate also head teacher at a named primary school in Munali Constituency in Lusaka. He was also part of the UPND cartel. Before the 2016 general elections the said head teacher was doing things contrary to what government and the job itself expected him to do. It seems he was promised something better in UPND government that NEVER came forth!
