  1. Clueless, visionless, heartless PF. It is more money in their pockets while we are suffering. Youths in the slums fight over coins while it is jobs for the boys at State House.

    • The same youths you feel pity for are lethal during elections and campaigns. They are called cadres and are ready to kick your butt at anytime even when you feel pity for them. The same youths where the voters who chose these very damn politicians. Just move on brother.

    • When did parliament ratify the so called “newly created ministries” or PF’s visionless Lungu is dwelling on his dictatorial tendencies?

    • For goodness sake, at some point GOVT HAS TO STOP GROWING and the ECONOMY START GROWING!

It is Districts, Provinces, and Ministries—all at the expense of growing the economy. When are we going to stop, take a breath, and take stock of all the Governmental-Money Gobbling-entities we have created so far? If need arises to grow Govt’s capacity/size, we can surely do that later in line with the capacity/size of the economy to comfortably support such a bloated Govt—currently, I personally see NO CONVINCING REASON for new Ministries other than to create more jobs for the President’s cronies.

I am sure if it wasn’t for the Constitution’s prohibition, we were going to end up with two to three Deputy Ministers per Cabinet position judging by what is going on now. Where is the…

… Robust Economy or Economic Activities in the Country to adequately support more Ministers, including everything that a functioning Ministry demands—Ministers’ salaries and benefits, supporting staff, equipment and infrastructure, extra?

President Edgar Lungu needs to slow down before he loses the confidence of ordinary Zambians who are looking at this and go; WHAT IS IT FOR ME? You remove SUBSIDIES (entailing higher prices for the ordinary Zambian,) but then you turn around and create new Ministries which, from an ordinary Citizen point of view, are only likely going to swallow up every little Ngwee you save from fuel/electricity subsidy removal—this is the kind of UNNECESSARY PR NIGHTMARE GOVT tend to create for itself without thinking!

    • Show me a leader without vision, a leader with misplaced priority, a leader who doesn’t know whether he’s going or coming, a leader who says one thing and does the exact opposite, a leader advocating for reduced spending but on the other hand creating ministries for friends and relatives (cadres), a leader calling for National day of prayers and fasting but on the other hand detaining his colleagues (opponents) in the political arena for merely expressing their fundamental rights, a leader calling himself a democrat but at the same time using disgruntled poverty stricken individuals to champion his call of extending his stay from 5 to 7yrs (wamuyayaya syndrome) and i will show you Edgar Chapona Lungu. This man is a true definition of a failed leadership & i even wonder how he manages…

    • I see a few PF cadres here are beginning to realize the truth, at least they are acknowledging what we have been mentioning all this time.
This whole government machinery is just to huge for a small and poor country like Zambia.

There is simply no reasonable justification for 40 ministries, Province ministers, District..shani ..shani uko…crazy. It simply shows we have very inefficient and incompetent people who are not capable e.g to run one ministry that combine both current ministries of Education (as an example only), otherwise why have two ministries? People are suffering, Mr ECL, transfer that money to help those who need it.

    • House fly. Brilliant response. People don’t know that no matter what and who is the president of a country, each one of us has a duty to apply our God given talent for our own benefit. No HH, GBM ECL Miles or even Guy Scott will ever come to your home and feed you from 1-30 of each month. In fact some of these guys do not even pay their own farm workers. I salute you House Fly. Thank you

    • @mpundu andrew, wake up! This was just another one of the many LIES that Lungu and his PF used to rig the election!

It will never happen. More Ministries to steal taxpayers ( and BORROWED ) money is the only thing Lungu is interested in.

For sure the K230 MILLION he stole has more than DOUBLED already.

  3. These 4 new ministries are a waste of government money which I pay as a tax payer. Apparently His Excellency doesn’t realise that the multitudes are watching patiently while he makes mistakes brought on by his advisors. Just because we have the numbers in parliament doesn’t mean we can be passing even useless laws.
I’m PF supporter number 1 but on this one President Lungu has heralded his own downfall.

    • Is this the REAL Kudos or an imposter? All same to the REAL comrade Kudos have faith in ECL he knows what he is doing, I for one am always against more ministers but I believe the President has a contingency in place. As mentioned in earlier posts don’t be surprised if we soon see a Magafuli like shake up as regards to the salaries, high MP gratuity, use of expensive SUVs etc in govt,

ECL has a plan to cut on govt expenditure at the Top!!!!!

    • He surely knows what he is doing. He surely can’t be doing things just for the sake of it. For him to do this it is because he knows that the benefits outweighs the demerits of the move. When you are armchair critics like most of us are, it is easy to shout the loudest from an anthill claiming that the president has lost it. In bemba we say that ulubuli ushiliko batila ati kalapule tuleya. Lungu is doing this for the sake of the country. Everything is under contolo.

    • Commrade Vision2020 and Saulosi this is the original Kudos. Don’t be deceived by LT’s flags. I’m the number 1 PF supporter but we have to give guidance to our great leader in times like this. The economy is only recovering now and these new ministries are a big expenditure.

    • @comrade Kudos I agree with you we need to cut on expenditure but as mentioned I’m confident there will be significant cuts at top govt level-ministers, MPs, PSs, Security and Defence Heads, all Govt depts and Insitution’s directors etc will have to face cuts in salaries etc Let’s wait and see comrade!
@ Fellow Bloggers don’t be deceived by the likes of wanka like lilo he is on record of inciting the violence against foreigners last year on this and other blogs so whatever a cowardly, blood thirsty animal like that says should be ignored.

    • This same lowlife Viso2020 is on record trying to switch sides by pretending to condem PF then his job must have been threatened and he pretended someone was using his account.

These are the same theives who were chairing from the forefront during elections when lungu was bankrupting the economy by using GRZ funds to campain and fly his musicians all over the country using ZAF choppers.

Every one else was condemning the plunder of GRZ reasources while these 2 lowlifes were urging zambians to dance on now they are trying to look like they care .

Stop lying just continue enjoying the looting.

  4. Confirmation that we got the most useless, heartless, clueless, brainless, visionless, dullness, spineless, needless, directionless and a drunkard as our president. We need to reduce the cost so as to improve the economy which he has messed up.

    • @ Shadreck biemba, don’t come with lame excuses like that! Lungu was in the PF Government since 2011.

But you are right. Lungu has not “messed up anything”. He has destroyed it!

Load shedding that has brought Zambias economy to its knees.

Corruption that is now institutionalized in the country, and set the example by himself stealing millions of public money.

Borrowing that has loaded Zambia with 10 BILLION DOLLARS of debt that Zambians will have to repay WITH INTEREST!

Killed our multiparty democracy by blatant RIGGING of the elections.

Deprived Zambians of Freedom of Speech through intimidation of ZNBC and suppresion of the independent media.

Smashed the RULE OF LAW by bribery and manipulation of the Judicary.

Right. He has not “messed up”.

  5. The ministries of Housing and infrastructure and Water and sanitation should have been merged into one.
Sanitaion has everything to do with household hygiene. it will be interesting to see if there will be no crushing of duties between the two ministries. Further , the Water component should have been with the Ministry of Natural Resources.

    0

    0
    • Infact water and sanitation together with environmental protection should have been under Health. All these are health matters mwebantu.Anyway we understand the powers-that-be have to create jobs for friends and relatives.

    • I still contend that the Ministries the way they were under MMD was just ok. They were structure with the perspective of achieving the vision 2030! When we examine these re-alignments and ask what is intended to be achieved,we see that it appears “mumbo-jumbo”!We cannot be re-aligning Ministries every time and again, after each election just to accommodate cadres! When is he in fact going to close some of the diplomatic missions?

  6. Rest assured fellow bloggers ECL knows what he is doing. Soon we expect cost cutting measures at the Top of govt!!!!
And don’t believe the peddling lies from the likes of the Lutuku blogger , Buck Teeth, chilayayaya (the cretin born with an IQ of 24), Nez (Negative Evil Zambian) and the rest of those bitter blood thirsty animals! 8. @born flea ..the only comedian here are cretins like you that have been praying for anarchy and chaos just so your uncle and his GBV thug hench man can rule Zambia! An example what have UPND MPs done in their own constituencies of note? Don’t tell me that they are at a disadvantage because they are in opposition – there have been many independent MPs in the past yet look at their towns be it in NW, S and W provinces they have failed and that is the development mind set you want to bring in ..you are a clown mwana!

You and your fellow cretins use of foul language only highlight and confirm the tag of you chaps being followers of lucifer! Even when the kwacha was at 4.5 to the USD you insulted and wished death on our Leaders.
A blood thirsty animal has no use and is a danger to everyone and anyone including itself Nez, chilyayaya, buckteeth, lutuku and co you are a danger to yourselves.

  10. I have never seen anywhere in the world where a president creates and swears in ministers everyday while the existing ministers don’t deliver anything! this is to appease the people who helped him rig elections. this is the worst president ever in Zambia,s history. He has no clue how to rule but appoint people who equally have no clue. Cry the beloved country.

Are these not the same ones who were at the forefront urging zambians to dance while lungu and PF were looting the economy to campain including using ZAF choppers to ferry musicians all over the country ? Are these not the same ones cheering on when lungu was hiring private jets to go and dance in NY ?

And now they want to act concerned, zambians don’t need you concern, just continue enjoying the looting.

  14. Tks MMM for your wise counsel – people like Shadreck are so poor in mind as to appreciate what exactly I meant when I referred to us blacks as being where we are – where is the wisdom Shadreck in creating ministries for religion & Presidential Affairs when the country is bleeding to death in debt most of it self inflicted? In as much as I would want to be proud in what u classify as colour, it’s actions like these that I said will make Africa remain where it is – stuck in poverty & begging with all the resources till the Lord Jesus descends from heaven – so please before u post your unsolicited comment in future, think through what someone is saying otherwise u will all the time expose your mediocrity…

  15. Kapiri Glass! Then ask their Area MP to deal with this matter. I think the MP is from UPND and people should be magnanimous enough to honour their promises. Blaming the Government that you DE campaigned during elections time in 2016 does not make sense at all. Here you are, handle the situation and for your information, Kapiri Glass is dully owned by the Chilalas of this world.

    • MPs dont control the budget. They can only advocate on behalf of the people. Kapiri Glass was used as a campaign tool just like Kawambwa tea and Mulungushi textiles. Where are these projects now?

  16. This is somewhat unwarranted expenditure! Perhaps figures would be more convincing. How much is government saving from removal of subsidies and how much will be spent on additional ministries? I am pretty sure it is colossal sums. The real cost of politics!

  17. What exactly does the Ministry of National Guidance do!? What religious affairs are we going to be dealing with? So MPs as usual decided to be loyal to their Executive branch and ignored the sentiments of the electorate again I see. it is not even funny anymore. Theocracy and intolerance will be the order of the day under the guise of some of these Ministries…
