Zesco moved into third position on Wednesday after rallying to beat demoted Lusaka Tigers 2-1 at Independence Stadium in Lusaka.

The defending champions exchanged places with Power Dynamos on 57 and 56 points from 28 and 30 games respectively.

However, it took at least half an hour before Zesco found the target when Emmanuel Kabaso put Tigers ahead in the 6th minute.

Defender Bernard Mapili equalized in the 32nd minute before midfielder Misheck Chaila snatched the winner five minutes before halftime.

The win moves Zesco within eleven points of leaders Zanaco who have played 29 games and another five in hand.

Nkana are second on 66 points, nine ahead of Zesco, and have two games left to play.

Meanwhile, second from bottom Tigers are demoted after the defeat with two games in hand and cannot usurp 16th placed Lusaka Dynamos who have 32 points from as many games played.
