South Africa book Cosafa U20 Cup final date with Zambia

Zambia will face hosts South Africa in the final of the 2016 Cosafa Under-20 Championship on Friday after beating DR Congo 2-1 in the semifinals.

South Africa reached the final after thumping Angola 5-0 in the second semifinal on Wednesday night.

Both Zambia and South Africa are unbeaten so far at the championship.

Zambia sailed through to the final after overcoming DR Congo 2-1 in Wednesday’s semifinal at Moruleng Stadium.

Boyd Musonda scored the winner 13 minutes from full time as Zambia reached the final with a perfect record.

Coach Beston Chambeshi’s boys led after 36 minutes with Fashion Sakala netting the opener.

The two teams went into the half time break with a 1-1 score line after Chadrack Lukombe equalised four minutes earlier.

Zambia will face the winners of the second semifinal tie between hosts South Africa and Angola in Friday’s final.

  5. With Beston Chambeshi in charge of the team, you can always put money on him. They should give chance at senior level because even those 10 trophies the U20 has won, he has massively contributed to that.
