Last Friday, Pernod Ricard hosted the first installment of their Chivas Success Sessions series in Zambia hosted by The Misty Jazz Restaurant owner Ignatius Anayawa.

Mr Anayawa is the first Zambian entrepreneur to be profiled through the Chivas Success Sessions which are a platform for entrepreneurs to reflect on their journey to success and how they give back to the community.

The luxurious evening also included The Misty Jazz Restaurant Resident Chef Wezi & Pernod Ricard Zambia Area Manager, Atlegang Moloko taking guests through a food and whisky pairing. Available for tasting at the event were the three ranges of the world’s original luxury whiskey, the Chivas 12-year-old, Chivas Extra, Chivas Select and an official toast with their finest which is the Chivas 25-year-old.

“”It’s such an honour & privilege to be recognized by such a huge brand like Chivas Regal, it means I’m doing something right.” – said Ignatius Anayawa as he addressed attendants who seemed more than pleased to hear of Anayawa’s announcement of the expansion of The Misty Jazz Restaurant franchise in six African countries. Anayawa has not only expanded his business across Africa but has contributed largely to the development of the music industry in Zambia and set up a music academy to identify and nurture Zambia’s future musical talent.

Pernod Ricard Area Manager for Zambia, Atlegang Moloko highlighted the existing relationship between the Chivas brand and social entrepreneurship in Africa; “The idea of using business as an influence for good appeals to Chivas Regal because it is meaningful and powerful. Chivas Regal prides itself on being a brand that inspires nobility and positive change”. With generosity, entrepreneurship and integrity at the heart of Chivas Regal, the brand launched the international ‘Win the Right Way’ campaign to inspire a new generation to achieve success whilst making a positive impact on the lives of others.

The Chivas Success Sessions will continue in the coming year and promises to be an interactive series of events and activities that bring a collective of entrepreneurs together to inspire more business initiatives that are not only profitable but also bring positive change to communities.
