The President is happy that the Zambia under-20 national team has started on a good note and encouraged them to even work extremely hard ahead of the upcoming matches.

President Lungu has urged Zambians that as host of the AFCON under-20 tournament, support should not only be provided to the Junior Chipolopolo but also to the visiting teams.

The President is confident that the Junior Chipolopolo will again make the country proud.

  1. Congrats Chipolopolo junior! Keep up with the winning spirit in the remaining games. I’m a very disappointed citizen with the sale of tickets for the match.FAZ should have pegged the cheapest ticket at K50.Now see what the kaponyas did! They took silly advantage of the give away tickets to exploit other citizens by reselling them at ridiculously high prices. A tournament of such magnitude selling tickets so cheaply! Oh FAZ please let’s not cheapen ourselves in that way!

  2. This is a mere u20 team which doesn’t do much for us hardcore fans. Lungu needs to sit down and do some work. Am sure this rat doesn’t even know where his office is in state house

Please, do not contaminate our football with your UPND hatred for PF. It is football that unites us more than anything else. When the Zambian team loses, we all feel the pain. When they win we all celebrate irrespective of where the players are drawn from and whether one region has more players in the team than others. We have always loved our national team and not been bothered from where our players are drawn from. For instance, I always loved to watch the Zambian team of the 70s as a kid and never bothered about where our players were drawn from. I never even knew Jani Simulambo the midfield turbo was a Southerner until recently when I watched Matimba Nkonje’s TV1 ZNBC programme that features players of yesteryear.

  3. Zambians love football. I hope this attendance will convince those who have been at the centre of denying us an opportunity to host the Senior Afcon to ReThink. The 1988 saga should cease to be a stigma…..Meanwhile Kalu ale wishin’ga fye nge Presidento

  4. The system of sitting in the office trusting other people to do the work for you is long gone that was in the Kaunda era where MPs will come and tell the President that every thing is fine when in-fact not. Keep it up Mr. President DO NOT TRUST ANY ONE NOT EVEN YOUR CLOSEST ONES.

  5. NEZ can’t agree with you more. Most of the countries that host this tournament do not hype it as much as we are doing in Zambia. Its a junior tournament that showcases future stars. Hosting the tournament is a plus for Zambia but the hype is unnecessary. ECL should not have wasted all that time at the Heroes. The minister of sports could do the job. But as usual wherever there is play ECL does not miss. We must set higher standards as a country. Such small tournaments should not excite the hell out of us. We must easily organise such tournaments without much ado.
