Hayatou intervenes in Kamanga-Kalusha rift

Issa Hayatou
President of the Confederation of African Football

CAF Present Issa Hayatou says he has made great progress in reconciling FAZ president Andrew Kamanga with his archrival and predecessor Kalusha Bwalya.

The Kalusha and Kamanga rift continues to grow following the latter’s stunning win over the former at the 2016 FAZ AGM.

Their rivalry has seen allegations of a pro-Kalusha camp undermining Kamanga regime.

Kamanga late last week officially wrote to Hayatou asking him to rein in Kalusha, who is also CAF executive committee member, from directly and indirectly interfering with the operations of his regime.

“During our meeting we requested the former President to respect the current President and we also asked the former President to seek advice for the good of the game,” Hayatou said.

” The two I am sure they are in good relation there is nothing wrong. We are very satisfied with the outcome of that meeting.

“We know that in the current executive there are some members who are very close to Kalusha Bwalya so we requested that if there is a problem we requested that he should meet the current President so that they work together.

“That was the outcome of our meeting.”

    • HOW DID THIS Issa Hayatou CHAP EVER BECOME PRESIDENT OF CAF.
HE LOOKS VERY DULL AND DUMB.
HE HAS CORRUPTION WRITTEN ALL OVER HIS FACE!!!

    • Corrupt Hayatou, The man never want to let go the CAF presidency? what would you expect. that’s why Kalusha also still want the FAZ Presidency. They are full of corruption. what a shame for a beautiful game to be represented by corrupt minded people. Kalusha should stop the nonsense and move on..

    • This chap juggled a lot of pf ballz at your dununa reverse rallies, give him something to do in your illegitimate conundrum.

    • This Issa has been President of CAF for over two decades even all those U20 boys were not born when he took office!!

    • Jay Jay you are very right. That’s why even Hayatou himself will be voted out. He is actually very jittery about his Madagascan challenger who infact is in good books with the current FIFA president. Kalu and Hayatou must go.

    • Typical Zambians they pick a fight when they have a tournament and visitors to entertain and Hayatou did not intervene he was asked to by Kamanga. Galu has seen the big crowds in Stadia and remembered the old days of his administration when they used to pocket everything. I hope a chunk of that money is going back towrds maintenance of those stadia.

    • @LombeI believe you even want KK come back! Whilst we are at it perhaps we should bring back the colonialists! Kabwelela kunuma alalya!

  1. THIS IS NOT A GOOD OUTCOME, WHY SHOULD KALU AND HIS TEAM GET INVOLVED IN THE AFFAIRS OF FAZ THEY ARE OUT ALREADY, WHY NOT FORM AN ALLIANCE THEN LIKE MMD AND PF AS U SEE NOW MMD PRESIDENT HIS EXCELLENCY HONOURABLE FELIX MUTATI IS IN PF LED GOVERNMENT. BUT IAM AFRAID THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL PARTY SO KALU AND HIS PEOPLE MUST MOVE ON I WONDER WHY ECL DID NOT APPOINT HIM SPORTS MINISTER MAYBE HE WILL BE PS SPORTS SOON.

  2. This feud between Kalu and Andy proves that, the former was in FAZ for self benefit indeed. It’s like he has indeed lost something personal after those elections.Great Kalu please, move on……..!!!

  3. It’s the new design for living in Zambia. PF kicks MMD but then MMD gets deeply involved in directing govt.

    • Agree!!!
In politics and now in football! Somehow getting into our blood and genes. so its part of us. Sad indeed.

  4. Kulusha should be embarrassed of him self. He lost his source of living and is now bitter.

Kamanga tried very hard to work with kulusha for the benifit of FAZ in zambia but the kulusha is just too bitter and in disbelief at losing him Cash machine. Even lungu tried to reconcile the 2 by inviting them to a match and kulusha rejected.

Kulusha is a corrupt person. He should have swallowed his pride and found his place under kamanga at FAZ as a dignitary and advisor.

    • That is how bemba theives are. Only stealing on their minds. This Bwalya stole and stole now he is not stealing now he wants to destroy things just to steal again.
These bembas. No wounder Congo is a wrecked country.

  5. Kalusha is behaving like Kaunda who refused to believe that FTJ and the MMD kicked him out of power. Ba Kalu, just move on. You made alot of money in Belgium, Holland, Mexico and Dubai. Use that money to survive and let others manage FAZ

    • Peter that one is not an example you can give now. It must be thar of UPND and PF. UPND and it’s leadership can’t believe that PF is in government

    • @7.1 bemba man.

That is how bemba theives are. Only stealing on their minds. This Bwalya stole and stole now he is not stealing now he wants to destroy things just to steal again.
These bembas. No wounder Congo is a wrecked country.

  6. I don’t know why people are blaming Kalusha for Andrew Kamanga’s fear of Kalusha’s shadow. Some ka association from Northern seeks to impeach Kamanga, the blame is on Kalusha, Why mwe bantu. You were not there when we used to listen to the news that Kalu has landed for a game, and the whole Chilenje would erupt in unison.

    • I was there, that’s when he was captain of the national team GET THROUGH YOUR SKULLS as an administrator GALU was corrupt, selfish, petty and just terrible…even FIFA don’t want touch him as he is too corrupt for the type of brand FIFA wants to create…even this dinosaur Issa Hayatou will be kicked out soon!!

    • YOU BOOTLICKERS NEVER CEASE TO AMAZE ME…YOU WOULD GIVE YOUR WIVES TO GALU FOR A NIGHT BECAUSE HE IS A NICE GUY!!

  7. Galu is an utter disgrace and Kamanga is also a fooool for retaining some of Great Galu’s bootlickers on his board when he had a choice…now he is crying to the crook Issa who has also overstayed in his role as i dont remember who the last CAF president was.

  8. Have some respect for GREAT KALU! This is a man who has done so much for Zambian and African Soccer. You people forget so quickly. Zambia rose from the ashes thanks to the contribution of this GREAT son of the soil. Kalu, you are a great man and nobody will take that from you. You’ve brought us so much joy and for the first time in the History of our great nation, you helped us lift the Africa Cup. Bravo GREAT KALU!!!

    • Yes Galu has done so much for Zambian Football BUT that should not be his licence to steal with impunity…there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to show for the AFCON winnings not even a physio room.
Kamanga thought he was being a nice guy when he refused to hand over evidence of corruption by the Galu Administration …he is paying the price and crying like a silly boy. The Nike and MTN sponsorship deals were done in secrecy under Galu which should be public information…if the U20 wins even Kappa will renegotiate that deal.
      Wake up from your DOCILITY!!

  9. Why do you always have to bring in Tribe into everything. Your minds are very dirty. Why don’t you ever preach love and tolerance of each other regardless of tribe in this Christian NAtion. You are evil and God will judge you for that hate you harbour against other tribes. Why not just objectively look at an issue

  10. Ba Jay Jay learn to keep quiet if you have nothing worthwhile to contribute. You are filled with envy and jealousy for GREAT KALU. Why don’t you go ahead and produce the evidence yourself? Jealousy and envy will consume you!

    • Just the $80,000 he “borrowed” for FAZ from the arab should be enough without even looking at how he looted FAZ.

Under kalus time bailiffs were on the gates of FAZ every month…..

    • Surely how can I be jealous and envious of someone who can not manage his personal finances …really laughable…this is a guy who lost his home in Woodlands because he took out a loan from a loan shark to maintain his luxury life of excesses. I hate and dislike LAZY CORRUPT INDIVIDUALS with a passion get that in your head.
      Wake up from your FOLLY!!

  11. ..the is no rift which can be resolved because of a third party intervention ….whatever they are referring to as ..’resolved’ is only cosmetic…

  12. Ka Katanga Kalusha Bwanya is very foolish! Too much kulimonesha ta! Lungs is the one who is supposed to intervene and deport Kalusha Bwanya to Lubumbashi where he hails from, kaTubulu Kasai kalitumpa saana, alah! Kafunika ku kachaya fwemba!

  13. Hay guys. LISTEN Kalu is in the CAF committee, meaning he is the member of this beautiful game, no matter what.. you can not stop him from attending. Kalu administration managed to bring the senior Africa cup, so KAMANGA concentrate on the Under 20 Afcon since the senior team failed to qualified for the 2017 edition

  14. Kalu has a strange behavior. He even psychologically tortured His Brother-in-law when His Sister succumbed to cancer! Her Husband booked a resting place for her in Riverside Kitwe but Kalu in his own words said; ‘ If you want you can bury your wife there, but the family is burying my sister in Mufulira’!!!
Those of us that are African inside out know what this means.
What about the feud between Him and the great Charlie? Who is the bad egg then?

  15. Zambian Christians being reconciled by a Moslem, Issa Hayatou!

    Christians my foot!

    Kalusha is an a**SS

  16. nothing to say all your comments are useless , you have nothing to do, Both Kamanga and Kalu have something to smile about in their lives, their have money…..but i wonder if their have Jesus Christ in their hearts …?
    Mark 35- 38
35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. 36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
