The Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) is fascinated by a youth who has created jobs for residents of Mpika district by putting up a milling plant using funding from CEEC.

CEEC Board Chairperson Kasuka Mutukwa said he is pleased with Kabwe Musowa who not only created jobs for the locals but also helped in reducing the price of mealie-meal in the district.

Dr. Mutukwa was speaking to the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) during the tour of the project in Mpika district yesterday.

The CEEC Board Chairperson stated that he was shocked to learn that most of the mealie meal in Muchinga province is processed in Lusaka, adding that the coming up of milling projects by CEEC will cushion the challenge.

Kabwe Musowa 35, a Manager of Pamulambe Milling Plant in Mpika district of Muchinga Province is one of the beneficiary of CEEC loans.

Mr Musowa has so far created employment to eight local people in Mpika District.

Meanwhile, Kabwe Musowa has praised government for coming up with an initiative such as the Citizens Economic Empowerment which has benefited a lot of youths.

Mr. Musowa has since urged fellow youths to come up with projects and access loans from CEEC so that they help government create more jobs.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mutukwa has disclosed that a milk processing plant owned by a youth is underway in Mpika district.

He explained that the plant will start producing yoghurt and cheese among others.

He also expressed happiness that many people who are accessing the Citizens Economic Empowerment loans are flexible in paying back loans.

Dr. Mutukwa has since urged Zambians to acquire loans, stating that collateral is not required on loans raging from K 5,000 to K50, 000 as this is meant for the citizens.

  1. Good story to hear esp when approaching Youth day. However there is need for CEEC to increase some products like Order finance, invoice discounting and all. sometimes the bureaucracy makes them un approachable

    • A 35 year old is a full grow person. What is this youth nonsense?

Is that Sichinga? Natulumuka! I thought ni kakolwe among people. Kanitundila!

  3. How much did he get? How much is he paying back? Is he consistent in his repayments? For how long is he loan? This is the sort of information that would help us make a decision on whether getting a loan from CEEC is worth it.

  4. You should be impressed with repayments as a success story not what some one already stated they will do in the business plan…silly CEEC managers…its clear most dont even use the money as intended.

  5. Good cold evening boys and girls, when i was a little boy i always thought a youth is someone is 18 years old and below, because my daddy trained me that way. I really get perplexed when i see old men with Grey hair in their nostrils and on their pubic hair been referred to as youth.

Did someone mention cheese and yoghurt, boy that is classic food.

  6. @Tonga Montana, so you have also watched Django Unchained? You are the Man. The line “Good cod evening” has betrayed you. Enjoy your youth week. And remember that Chishimba Kambwili was Youth Chairman until recently. I am not sure whether Super Ken is still a youth, too, as it appears as though the Zambian man was born to die a youth.

  7. Haha haha hahaha, OKay you got me on that one, i got from my fellow Cowboys, but i will still prove to that i shaded off my youthful skin at 18, remember the youthful super ken of post 1991, after a heavy defeat, his famous line whenever he was holding a rally was “kaunda alina pamvu, kaunda alina panvu, and he would started abusing the podium like he was a member of mozegeta’s mimbulu boys, while clad in his Ts, jeans and a pair of convex canvas shoes, the only thing that slowed him down was that bullet that glazed his bald head, can a youth with diapers on remember such events vividly?
