  1. Ba DEC why don’t you go and arrest Zambia breweries, National Breweries, Chat Breweries, Kankoyo etc and all these other alcohol distillers as well? Eh? Don’t tell me that you are just protecting the constitution and following the Law! Beer has caused more deaths by way of accidents, assaults, rapes, broken homes etc
Your role above anything else is to protect life! You are being selective and hypocrites!
DEC is simply just a bureaucratic nightmare that is hurting the people just so that over zealous DEC officers can convict poor people! May God judge you accordingly!

  2. The way ECL mistakenly thinks his work is to swear in people everyday at statehouse is the same way DEC mistakenly thinks it’s work is to pursue cannabis issues only, how sad

  3. What is the relationship between the PRO madam Katongo and the DG for DEC. Areest those dealing in big time drugs not hemp.

  4. They also need aka bwali.we all act against the law no 1 is perfect….just release them and sound a last owning to them.shud they repeat the same act then make sure they dance to the tune of the law….lol

  5. Release and Grant them with trading license as there is a provision under the law compelling them to grow medicinal marijuana as you earlier pronounced. Prison are overcrowded because of these petty marijuana issues. And yet GRZ is busy building and expanding prisons at the expense of other developmental issues when the influx of offenders can be regulated.

The issue of marijuana requires immediate attention. There can more benefits socially and economically via putting up a strong regulatory frame work to manage marijuana cultivation than overcrowding prisons and breading diseases. When you are sentenced to 10 years you are as good as sentenced to death because the poor health conditions in our prisons will kill you. FACT!

  6. It is sad to note that appeals for the cultivation of Cannabis is mooted by some educated elites. Which country – developed or under-developed – on Earth is extracting bioactive compounds of medicinal value from Cannabis? If Cannabis has any compounds of pharmaceutical importance, what diseases do these compounds cure? Since Cannabis has a potent psychotropic (mind-altering) effect that has sent thousands of MAD men into our streets, which Zambian Pharmaceutical Co has analytic machines that can isolate (separate) this deadly Tetrahydrocannabinol to obtain medical drugs? If none exists, then STOP APING HARMFUL foreign ideas. Cannabis is NOT an indigenous plant to Zambia. It is an Asian plant.

    • the compounds can easily be isolated at even at home using very simple (over-the-counter) chemicals and filters. Zambian labs (practically all of them) have the ability to isolate compounds.
      P.S. delta-8 & delta-9 are analgesics.
      Don’t shout out your ignorance.
