Ms Mulenga says government is not swayed by negative rhetoric from the opposition.
Ms Mulenga who is also Information Minister said government expects the UPND to settle down and offer constructive criticism to the ruling Patriotic Front instead of engaging in negative tactics that are retrogressive to the development of democratic proceses in the country.
Speaking to ZNBC News in Lusaka, Ms Mulenga said the PF has a five year mandate from the people of ZAMBIA and will therefore concentrate on delivering development to the country.
The Minister’s comments come in the wake of the boycott of the International women’s day activities last Wednesday by the UPND and its insistence that President LUNGU did not win last year’s general election.

The govt is used to Zambian’s tendency to forget quickly but the petition thing isn’t going away. Lungu is not recognised as president by the majority who believe he stole elections. If you claim to be a president and you find yourself and your party constantly forcing people to accept you it means there is a problem somewhere. It does not take HH to recognise Lungu’s Presidency for Lungu to be a bonafide President. Lungu is in State House and HH at his private home. No sensible person can dispute that Lungu won. Its difficult in Zambia to be president without a Bemba support. Why because they are the majority. In comparison it was practically impossible for Obama to have been President if Whites had not voted for him. These things Zambians are everywhere. The PF government’s preoccupation with what the UPND has or has not done or what HH is up to etc. is a way of diverting from pressing social economic issues that the country faces. They continuously talk about HH to appear as if they are working. Where are the statements on where the country is going? Real policy issues. State of the nation pronouncements and policy directions related to the future of agriculture, small businesses, the youth, the mines, load shedding, etc. When is the next press conference by the ‘dear leader’? (which should ordinarily involve free questions to himself about the ‘state of the nation’ and his ‘vision’.)
