Nkana upbeat despite Charity Shield final defeat

Nkana coach Zeddy Saileti has described his sides 2017 Charity Shield final defeat as painful.

Nkana lost 2-0 to Zesco United in the final on Sunday at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola just four days after making a promising start in the season-opening tournament semifinals with a 3-0 thumping of FAZ Super Division champions Zanaco.

“It is painful we didn’t win the Charity Shield. You know playing in the final, you have to get a positive result but this is football,” Saileti said.

However, Saileti said playing two high-profile matches before they kickoff their 2017 FAZ Super Division campaign on April 8 when they host Nakambala Leopards was the biggest plus of playing in the Charity Shield.

“I think we will see where we went wrong so that we can polish up. I think it is good for the team to have played two good games at this level and I think we are now ready for the league,” Saileti said.
