Share

Southern Province Police Commissioner Bonny Kapeso has warned that police will deal ruthlessly with anyone attempting to cause confusion in the province on Tuesday, 18th April 2017.

Mr Kapeso has since directed all police officers in the province to be in full riot attire and be ready to confront any form of violence in their districts.

In a statement, Mr Kapeso said, “this announcement serves to confirm that tomorrow, Tuesday 18th April, 2017, all police officers, in southern province, are hereby directed to be in full riot attire and be ready to confront and neutralize any form of violence in their districts without fail.”

“To all members of public who desire to live in peace, am asking them to stay away from violence if they value their lives. tomorrow is seen as a litmus test for the police in Southern Province. prevention is better than cure, lest I am blamed that I did not forewarn my brothers and sisters in the province,” Mr Kapeso warned.

Incarcerated UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema and five supporters are expected to be presented before court on Tuesday to answer criminal charges including that of treason.

    • Please do not riot. There are better ways of showing our displeasure.

What about a STAY-AWAY from work?

This Friday let everyone that disagrees with Lungus nonsense stay away from work. Lets shut Zambia down for one day to show our disapproval. No teargas, no riots! Just peaceful protest!

      Try it. It works!

    • Ki ki ki ki. Thats what hh used to say. Now he has changed his mind.
      .
Be ready for tear gass. Dont start saying it was laced with poison.

Tear gass was designed for unruly behavior

    • I get so pisses off when someone threatens me, and especially if he reminds me of my life. Just the same as if a dog bucks, I hate that, if the bitxh comes after me I kick the fuxk out of it!
I feel like calling Kapeso right now. What is his mother language kanshi?

    • What police officers must know is that some of the people in your uniforms are not true Zambian police officers but hired from other countries like Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, North Sudan, Morocco and Somali. Please I urge the police officers to be vigilant or else you will be surprised to see the same people shooting live bullets on your own people or even shoot at you if not careful.

    • @1 I THINK THAT’S WHAT, Southern Province Police Commissioner Bonny Kapeso, SAID THAT, IF YOU DON’T VALUE YOUR LIFE PARTICIPATE OR STAY NEAR VIOLENCE. YOU SOUND LIKE YOU DON’T VALUE YOUR LIFE SO GO NEAR WHERE VIOLENCE WILL BE HAPPENING IN SOUTHERN PROVINCE WESTERN AND NORTH WESTERN PROVINCES. DON’T GO TO NORTHERN AND OTHER PROVINCES WHERE THEY VALUE THEIR LIVES IF YOU DON’T WANT TO LIVE IN PIECE OR NOT LIVE AT ALL..

    • the guy who threw a shoe at Bush was sentenced to three years in prison for assaulting a foreign head of state. that was a clear intent by al zaidi to hurt a sitting president, but no treason charges were brought up against him.

    • Whats life worthy living for if we cant enjoy our rights anymore. We need to fight for the future of our children. You will kill us and thats how the international community will come and apprehend you.

  1. Riot…AND DIE A MARTYR
    Mobilise guys
    Flood the streets tomorrow
Show solidarity, as they did in Soweto during apartheid

    • It took 1 street fruit seller to change the political landscape in North Africa, generals, priests, academicians, policemen, students, women, men, children were all afraid, everyone thought they were docile until 1 match brought down the entire forest, this one fruit seller said enough, Gaddafi, hosni Mubarak, Tunisian former president, are no more.

    • @ Political Flatulence (PF),
Very true a fruit seller indeed but this fruit seller is the type you can not make comparisons with the likes in Zambia as this fruit seller in North Africa could be one of the many educated ones making a living selling fruit for lack of jobs. Those who have visited North African countries will attest to the high number of college graduates trying to make a living every which way, easy ones to encounter are mostly taxi drivers thus due to being well informed they can not be as docile as their Zambian counterparts in same trades. In Zambia the fruit seller has serious challenges with the basic being denial of access to information!

    • NO, I AM NOT SO STUP1D TO RIOT FOR A FELLOW HUMAN BEING WHO KEEP INVITE TROUBLE ONTO HIMSELF. YOU CAN GO THERE YOURSELVES WHO WARSHIP HH. I WORSHIP JEHOVAH GOD NOT STUP1D HUMAN BEING.

  2. Comment:Kapeso should know that there is time for everything in life and there is a limit in how you take people,s quiteness for granted Zambia is bigger than this cadre called Kapeso. God is surely watching you will dearly pay one day for your evil deeds.

  3. Riots are illegal and a criminal act, but Mr Benny Kapeso’s seemingly threat to life statement is unacceptable. protests should not be confused with riots. The following statement by Mr Kapeso may be interpreted to mean any one who riots deserves to killed by whosoever is charged with laws enforcement and may lead to some officers thinking they have been given a right to kill “To all members of public who desire to live in peace, am asking them to stay away from violence if they value their lives.” our view is that if indeed there are people planning to riot or cause violence they should be dealt with according to the law without any extra actions. And to our fellow Zambians wherever you may be violence does not pay, and therefore don’t be violent in whatever situation. To those…

    • @ Nez you have changed the language!! Soon you will be Traced And arrested if you cintinue with your foolishness
      Where is Tayali??

  4. Using social media to insult the Republican President is very bad and completely unacceptable. discuss issues, don’t insult. If you have nothing to say just keep quiet. Many well meaning people are put off by people who don’t discuss rationally.

  5. Breaking News! Geoffrey Mwamba Bwalya popularly known as GBM has vowed to take over the UPND Presidency when HH is convicted as HH will surely be found with a case to answer and consequently be Convicted. You guys want to take to the Streets when HH will never even look after your Children if you were die during Riots.

    • ba reality is ill informed and miseducated.its not about HH,its about the value of human life and the rights therein enshrined. if we all did things because someone would look after our kids, why did mandela spend all those years in prison missing out on the lives of his children, did the south african people father his children in his absence.Kaunda, sacrificed for the independence of zambia, did he say ati after all these zambians wont look after my kids should i be killed, let me just stop.kwame nkhrumah was asked, how he felt after ghanas independence, and he said.Ghana is not free until all africa is free.why did he care about other countries when his was independent?this quality of great humanist action is lacking in you sir.Anyway,u docile, maybe its not your fault

  6. The police in any country are supposed to protect citizens and NOT used to intimidate or slaughter anyone expressing a grievance. There is nothing wrong in people showing solidarity to a just course through peaceful demonstrations. If the police lose their moral campass and professionalism due to misguided royalties, the international community is more than able and ready to intervene. We are a global village and NOT an island.

    • Do you live on earth or somewhere else? Do you have a TV? do you watch Al Jezeera, CNN, BBC or any African cannel? have you seen police protect rioters? if you have no answer to any of the questions above then you probably live on mars or somewhere. Cheerio!

  7. Only tribal f00ls in 3.5 provinces could even think about protesting on our streets over UNVOTABLE HH!!I CAN ASURE YOU THAT 6.5 PROVINCES WILL BE AS QUIET AS RUSSIAN SNOW AND IT WILL BE LIFE AS USUAL!!!!ZP must just cage those who consider hh to be their tonga god!!

    • @ Do not insult people, you low life. With that type of thinking, it is no wonder you kiss people’s ass. You cannot distinguish brutality from good governance.

  8. Hopeless life has no meaningless. Threats in and out. We want power to the people. Africa wake up enough is enough.

  9. Release HH period, He is innocent, treason for being over taken by the president without a route, without proper security? God is watching you

    • HH IS A SUSPECTED CRIMINAL AND THEREFORE A DANGEROUS PERSON TO BE SET LOOSE. HE WILL BE RELEASED AFTER PROVING HIMSELF THAT HE IS NOT A CRIMINAL. HOWEVER, AS AT NOW HE MUST BE PUT AWAY FROM VULNERABLE CITIZENS OR ELSE HH WILL INFLICT DANGER ON THEM. SO IN THE MEANTIME LET HIM BE IN A 5STAR HOTEL AND RELAX.

  10. NEZ you make me wana puke, you are disgusting rat, i wish you could disappear.
Mr Kapeso, while i understand your concern and your duty to protect Zambians, i would like to remind you that those that are unhappy and wish to protest are also Zambians that needs your protection, wish you are mandated to, your warning is rather a threat to the lives of our Zambian brothers, they may be disgruntled by the arrest of the law breaker(hh) but as Zambians they still need your protection, please Mr Kepeso next time you want to warn citizens do so without threats, accidents happen and in this case if it happened it would be assumed it was planned(your plan) when not.

    • Vuyo you are comfortably sat in South Africa as an economic refugee while your relatives endure pf mediocrity. The best way forward is for someone to put rogor in lungu food so that the rat gets kunyu again foams at mouth and is eradicated from this earth

  11. i hate the stupid belief that most upnd believe in, they are the *****s that believe black people are incapable of managing own affairs, i wonder who the president will be if ever hh was to wine the votes in Zambia, would it be him or the so called international? he himself is always referring to the so called international and so are his followers. please we want a Zambia that is led and managed by a Zambian not some international God knows who that international is.
so primitive ba upnd like real tongaz, awe sure twanaka na international this international that, maybe on your campaign material you should put the face of the international leader who is yet to be Zambia’s president bacause clearly upnd doesn’t have a president for Zambia should they accidentally win a presidential…

  12. Country men and women even if unemployment is high in Zambia you cannot not sink so low and be hired as a social media insultant and end up in hell. your friends are accountants or consultants but of all the jobs you just chose to be insultants even insulting elders sure in a christian nation and you think God will let you Scot free wait for God’s judgement and all those politicians will not be there to defend you for they will also have their portion in hell unless you all repent you shall surely perish. Hired insultants for pieces of silver shame on you and most of you are young chaps school leavers abused by evil men and women stop it

  13. God almighty where are you in all this? You have said in your word that when we walk through the fire we shall not be burnt or in deep waters we shall not drown. Show your power lord Jesus, protect your son whom his enemies are persecuting. Do not abandon him nor forsake him. Let them be swallowed like those enemies who persecuted the children of Israel were swallowed in the Red Sea. Let all evil PF cadres be swallowed in Jesus name. It is done Amen.

  14. Social media is misrepresenting the facts on the ground. No tension in the country. Normal business as usual.

  15. Upnd bloggers why consume youself with bitterness and vitriol for H.E. .ECLs demise will come from within his party. The ambitions of Mumbi Phiri along with her preferred running mate Amos Chanda who both aspire to state house will cause countless dramas within the party.
Then we have wily Kambwilli who has distanced himself from this mess. He will smell like roses election time
Terrible has had 5 chances to deny or confirm the above but still silent. He knows the posturing that is happenning within the party. He will deny but he knows moves are afoot.

  16. You dare cause riots and you shall see maximum sentence on you,
Any form of stupid behavior will just impose state of emergency and will see who will suffer .
Pf has 5 years to rule and in 2021 it will have another 5 years .
One person who is not even close to being a head of state can not hold us on ransom .
He played the beat so let him dance to it .Who ever wants to join him let him obstract the presidency when he is on his way to any place .
If you say it’s best to die than to be led be lungu then dare to riot you will see the gates of death open immidiatly .

  17. Bonny the people will demonstrate peacefully.so no need to threaten them.it is you police and Lungu who have created confusion in the country and not the people.

  18. This Time today if HH was released of which I doubt , he will pave way for anything that’s passing with a siren. Akulagalila ukutali na ma sirens . Nangu bwinga he will think twice before driving.
You see we will have put normality in his head to be a good citizen .

  19. Demonstrate namano but know that any threat to any citizen or property will land you in jail.
Go out today but I must tell you that he HH has a long life behind bars than outside .
    Mukanaka nombaline

  20. Mr. President i think you should PARDON Mr. HH. Not so much for him but for YOUR SELF,YOU ALREADY ARE THE HEAD OF STATE, and a bigger person, Mr. HH is not. Yes he needs to give you respect. But am sure, he has done a lot of PONDERING IN THAT JAIL. If i was in your shoes, i would PARDON Mr.H H AND ALSO GIVE HIM A PUBLIC WARNING THAT IF HE ATTEMPTS TO CONDUCT HIM SELF IN SUCH A MANNER NEXT TIME. THAT WILL BE THE END FOR HIM AND HIS POLITICAL CAREER.
