Sports Zanaco to miss Mangani and Musonda in Champions League group campaign

Zanaco will be without Mangani Banda and Boyd Musonda for at least a month and a half that will also see them miss the start of the sides 2017 CAF champions League group stage campaign.

The duo have been excused by Zanaco for international duty with the Zambia Under-20 team.

Zanaco coach Mumamba Numba said Banda and Musonda will not also be part of his Sunday’s FAZ Super Division home clash against Mighty Mufulira Wanderers at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

The Zambia Under-20 team is set to leave for a lengthy training camp in Spain that same date on April 23 en-route to South Korea next month for the 2017 FIFA Under-20 World Cup.

Korea will host the FIFA U20 World Cup from May 20 to June 11.

With this development, Musonda and Banda are also set to miss Zanaco’s opening 2017 CAF Champions League group stage three match dates on May 12, May 23 and June 3.
