Energy Minister David Mabumba has expressed happiness over the document aimed at guiding the setting of electricity tariffs based on empirical evidence of generating transmitting cost and distribution which will be implemented soon in Zambia.

The Energy Minister revealed that the study will be carried by the Economic Consulting Associates of the United Kingdom in partnership with the Zambian firm called utilink Zambia.

He noted that the study which is funded by the African Development (ADB) is expected to be completed in 12 months’ time once commenced.

Mr Mabumba stated  that Zambians especially business persons will benefit a lot once the initiative is employed and electricity usage will be favourable to every business entity and households in Zambia.

He was quick to mention that the Patriotic front (PF) led Government means well for Zambians thus allowing undertakings about electricity in the country.

“Am happy that the document aimed at guiding the setting of electricity tariffs based on empirical evidence of the generating transmitting cost and distribution will be implemented soon in Zambia” Mabumba said

Silence if you have literally nothing to say is better to avoid problems. Sugar and Salt may be mixed together, but the ants reject salt and carry away with sugar. You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones to every dog that barks. Haters will see you walking on water and say it’s because you can’t swim. Even if you dance on water, your enemies will accuse of raising dust. Make it your ambition to live a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your own hands. Remember not to try to wrestle with a pig, you will both get dirty, and the pig will be…

  5. These people sit in their comfortable air conditioned offices and raise tarrifs without thinking of the poor who can’t afford.

Why contract a UK firm to raise tarrifs, but when you want to withdraw from ICC you consult Zambian? Why not consult zambians on how much they can afford to pay?
