Minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Kalaba told journalists at a media briefing in Lusaka today that the C10 Summit will be preceded by a Ministerial and Ambassadorial segment starting today.
Mr. Kalaba said the C10 Summit will map out strategies to further expand and intensify advancement of the African common position in the UN Security Council as agreed by the AU Ministerial meeting held in Swaziland in March, 2005.
He said the importance of ensuring that Africa takes its rightful position within the decision making process of the UN Security Council cannot be overemphasized.
Mr. Kalaba said the common position underscores Africa’s goal to be fully represented in all decision making organs of the United Nations including the UN Security Council.
He said Zambia will in consistent fashion and in solidarity of the common African position support the Host Coordinator of the C10 and Equatorial Guinea President Obiang Mbasogo in enhancing the C10 mandate.
The Committee of Ten comprises of Algeria, Libya, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Kenya, Uganda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Namibia and Zambia.

Lungu is a coward. When its hot he can’t stand the heat in the Kitchen. Lungu is running away from the HH Treason Fiasco. He is under pressure to leave the Courts to do their work Professionally. Lungu had invested a lot In the HH Treason Charge hoping the Courts would convict him of Treason and kill HH’s political career forever. The State Witnesses have been so discredited making a Treason conviction for HH legally untenable. Now Lungu is using this other Magistrate to keep HH in jail even though there is no basis for a Treason conviction. Lungu is abusing State Institutions (ZPS and Courts) to punish all his opponents or anybody with an opposed view to his. The man is a Sadist indeed and enjoys to see others suffer in Jail. HH is innocent and should be freed from Prison…
