Zambia hope to wrap-up Group C with a 100 percent run at the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup in South Korea when they face Costa Rica on Saturday in their last pool phase game in Cheonan.

The African champions lead Group C on 6 points and are expected to win it as they enjoy a three point lead over second placed Iran whom they beat 4-2 on Wednesday.

“We are representing Africa and Zambia which is good and nice. I am happy but the war still continues we have to look at the coming games and see how we do in our games,” coach Beston Chambeshi said.

Chambeshi added that said he will not treat the match as a formality nor does he have plans to rest his star players.

The only regular expected to miss the match will be without captain and defender Solomon Sakala who is suspended after accruing two yellow cards in the group stage.

“We cannot relax and we cannot choose that we shall play these players for that game, but yes we have a reservoir of players, but it depends on how that day will be.I will see how it goes,” Chambeshi said.

Confirmation as Group C winners will see them play on May 31 against either Argentina, Germany or the number three finishers from Group F that contains USA,Senegal,Saudi Arabia and Ecuador.

  1. Thanks UNIP. You left a very strong soccer foundation. Others have failed and now just concentrating on jailing political opponents.

  2. Thanks UNIP you left a legacy that arrogant politicians were jailed or made to disappear. We thank you for that.

WHY the coach is not sure of which team he will face in the next round? Very useless like his incacerated boss HH
