Italy will face Zambia in the quarterfinals of the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup.
Italy eliminated 2013 champions France 2-1on Thursday to record the biggest upset of the tournament so far as Gli Azzurri go in search of their debut final appearance.
Riccardo Orsolini put Italy ahead in the 27th minute to net his 3rd goal of the tournament in South Korea.
However, Italy’s lead was short-lived and France equalised from the spot ten minutes later through Jean-Kevin Augustin.
Giuseppe Panico then shattered France’s hopes in the 53rd minute to setup a date with Zambia.
Despite five U20 World Cup outings, Italy have yet to reach even the semifinals and were quarterfinalists three times.
Meanwhile, Zambia landed in Suwon on Thursday ahead of Monday’s showdown against Gli Azzurri .
Our boys will triumph. Never mind the negative talk.

I am relishing the clash between the U 20 Chipolopolo and the Gli Azzuri. This is going to be a mouth-watering encounter. Zambia will have to be at her best at the back and in front to extinguish the Italian catanacio which I seemed to miss in that encounter with the U20 Les bleu.
