Kitwe United make debut Barclays Cup cut

Kitwe United have finished top of the FAZ Division 1 Zone 2 table half way into the 2017 season following a 1-1 draw at FQM Roads in Solwezi.

Chingalika qualifies for Barclays Cup if the tournament takes place this year.

Kitwe lead Zone 2 with 28 points from 15 matches played.

Equally second placed Kansanshi Dynamos are on 28 points but Kitwe have a superior goal difference.

Kitwe have scored 16 times, allowing 9 goals while Kansanshi have scored 13 goals and have conceded 7 times.

Kansanshi at the weekend dropped into second place after losing 1-0 to Copperbelt Buffaloes at home in Solwezi.

Elsewhere, Indeni remained third on the table despite beating visiting Geokas Curve 1-0 in Ndola.

Indeni are now on 27 points, just one away from leaders Kitwe United.

In Zone 1, National Assembly recorded an emphatic 6-1 victory over Riflemen on Saturday to finish top as at Week 15.

Assembly have 33 points from 14 matches and have one un-played match.
