PRESIDENT Edgar Chagwa Lungu says he is leading a team that will leave legacy befitting to make generations to come proud.

And President Lungu says he will endeavour to engage various sections of society to help him govern.

Speaking when International Fund for Agricultural Development paid a courtesy call to him at state house, President Lungu said his government was ready to partner with investors and organisations that can help transform and better the lives of an ordinary Zambian.

“We want to leave an impact! A positive impact. We want to say we found it at this level and lifted it to that level,” President Lungu said.

“That is the legacy we want to leave!”

And President Lungu took notice of the works of the United Nations noting that their already reseached work can be used by government as templates.

“The UN family gives us a lot of hope…The UN have experience, they know what works and what doesn’t. They can tell us what we can or can not try…,” he said.

He noted that people learn by listening to others and that was why he was engaging various sections of society.

“We learn by listening… we know what we want and what we want is to deliver service even to rural areas, make them more attractive with development and hence decongest the urban area,” President Lungu said.

Among the Officials present was IFAD President, Gilbert Houngbo, UN Systems Country Coordinator Janet Rogan.

Others were IFAD Regional Director Sama Jatta, Country Director Abla Benhammouche, economist Oscar Anadumba and logistics specialist Waseem Khan.

On hand to aid the President receive the entourage was Agriculture Ministers, Michael Katambo and Hon Dora Siliya as well as Commerce Minister Margaret Mwanakatwe.

The ministers thanked IFAD for their support as cooperating partners in small holder farming targeted at reaching out to women and the youth.

  1. Press on you are on course sir. Just need for some internal safety valves with respect to systemic internal controls. We have serious problems with the level of financial leakages gone on way too long unabated. Value policy consistency also and expert judgement critical in development trajectory. You have the solidarity of the masses. Constructive criticism is not disapproval,l but an iron sharpening tool to value.

    • With an open mind and big heart, also embrace ideas, innovations, ingenuity and talent of all Zambians beyond partisan lines. The political base by itself cannot transform or deliver equitable development. A spirit and culture of inclusiveness is critical for our nation. Its what has made America and Canada among many countries successful post WW2. More than dependence on dumps from outside, lets build internal capacity. National peace and security are our biggest assets that we have no reason to remain under developed. In our solidarity, we ask nothing but a transformed Zambia with opportunity for every citizen. May our universities be research and incubation centers through idea generation. All the best for mother Zambia.

    • With due respect, what legacy is there to be proud of? I would hang my head in shame if I were you.
      – legacy of destroying the economy
      – legacy of tribal politics
      – legacy of cadre violence
      – legacy of rigging elections
      – legacy of brutalizing anyone with opposing views & opinions
      – legacy of debt of $30Billion
      – legacy of high youth unemployment
      – legacy of abrogating constitution refusing to step down during elections & going for an illegal 3rd term
      – legacy of abuse of power thru corrupt police
      – legacy of destroying all our democratic achievements
      – legacy of auctioning the country to Chinese
      – legacy of selling ZNBC to Chinese
      – legacy of selling NRDC to Chinese
      – legacy of selling Chimbokaila to Chinese
      – legacy of bringing back MMD even after we voted them out in…

    • Well said Zoonest ,

They need reminding that Mr lungu is human not God and a very flawed human at that….

    • People 2021 anything but Lungu and this legacy which the president is referring to is tarnished.

Vote RL in 2021 and let him finish his work.

      I have a PhD

      Thanks

    • “PRESIDENT Edgar Chagwa Lungu says he is leading a team that will leave legacy befitting to make generations to come proud.”

So far you are the most hopeless President Zambia has ever had. A President who cries day and night for recognition. You are so petty Lungu its unbelievable. You lock up opposition leaders for fear of your own shadow and you think that is the legacy anyone can be proud of? Shame on you.

    • Legacy of corruption…awarding contracts to ministers and government employees is not something to brag about. Government employees should sign a code of ethics which should include that they cant engage in business related to their work and cant get government contracts. That is my biggest beef.

    • Your President is a wish, internationally is known as a up coming dictator with expensive suits using borrowed money.
Zambia will be bank corrupt with this guy in the Oval Office….people open your eyes PF has been in government for 6 years and it has already accumulated almost 30$ billion unbelievable.

    • @Zoonest, You are spot-on, He has no shame to pass such statements. Lungu has wrong advisors with the interest to steal only. The legacy that he will leave is how he divided the country making tribalism the core of his leadership.

    • Mr President. Every gov’t has left a legacy. Yours is on track to be best. I saw how with help of God you handled drought, load shedding & Kwacha crisis. You won 2 elections during worst crises for the country & you managed to get us out of those crises. You looked to God & now God is smiling on our land. Never let go of your faith & God will continue blessing you & Zambia to become beacon for all nations. Identify talented Zambians to assist you with plans for Zambia. You’re doing good job so far @ BoZ, MoF, Secretary to Cabinet, ZRA, etc. No one can touch you as anointed child of God. All strategic positions must be occupied by talented & capable people. Talented & capable private sector must be empowered to create jobs. God Bless you & God Bless Zambia

    • GO FOR IT – BEAT THOSE DRUMS; THATS WHY THE PEOPLE GAVE YOUR A MANDATE
      ==========================
I shall pass judgement at the end of your tenure! FTJ taught me a lesson. Right now I treat your remarks as rhetoric. Meanwhile you are very much in the driving seat. Drum beat Zambia “developmentally”. Zambia needs it. We the patriots love the sound of positive thinking towards our mother land. Church, Civil Liberty groups and non extremist opposition leaders, kindly pump the checks and balances pedal. Zambia should smile, she has been abused severally by sel.fish politicians. WALK THE TALK!

    • LUNGU IS A PRESIDENT BY DECEIT THAT WHY HE IS CRYING AND APPEALING FOR HH’S RECOGNITION. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THE CHIEF JUSTICE AND HER DEPUTY DID NOT RECOGNIZE HIM AND REFUSED TO SWEAR HIM. THE CONCOURT FAILED TO DECLARE HIM PRESIDENT. EVEN LUNGU HIMSELF KNOWS THAT HE IS AN ILLEGAL PRESIDENT, THAT IS WHY HIS MIND IS TROUBLED. HE IS GUILTY OF DECEIT AND FRAUD. LUNGU’S MIND SHALL CONTINUE TO BE HAUNTED FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE, EVEN IN HELL WHERE A PLACE HAS BEEN PREPARED FOR HIM.

    • Full them now but reality will catch-up soon, Just too much debt to pay. The substandard roads will soon crumble.

  2. They say “nobody has a monopoly of wisdom”, and that “if one always talks,he simply repeats what he already knows, however if one listend,he learnd new things!!”
So yes indeed Mr President, you are on right tract!!PF’s splendid works since 2011 are second to none!!only KK’s Govnt of 27 years is a bit closer to PF’s 6 yrs rule!!if given 20 or more years,PF shall take Zambia to higher heights!!
ALL THE PF GOVNT NEEDS TO DO IS TO TURN A BLIND EYE ON THE OPPOSITION PARTIES ESPECIALLY UPND AS YOU DEVELOP ZAMBIA!!the opposition parties want PF to fail so that they can win support from Zambian voters.BUT SINCE PF LEADERS ARE TOO WISE,THEY WORK HARD DAY&NIGHT!!
at the rate PF is developing Zambia,i simply cant see how PF may lose 2021 elections!!

    • “….only KK’s Govnt of 27 years is a bit closer to PF’s 6 yrs rule!!if given 20 or more years,PF shall take Zambia to higher heights!!…”

      KK = 27 years = $7 billion debt

      Lungu = 6 years = $10 billion debt

Another 20 years and it will be $60 billion debt…..

    • Lungu is the absolutely worst President that Zambia will ever have. Internationally he is now known as a brainless dictator, a ruffian who has destroyed Zambia’s democratic credentials.

  3. Your only legacy is one of stinking dictatorship! It will be on your watch that Zambia will fall apart and that’s a dreadful legacy to bequest us with, kamambala iwe!

  4. I see no normal person opposing President Lungu or dreaming of trouncing him on the ballot in 2021 God keeping well. I agree with you folks the man is in overdrive for a developed Zambia while others are signing sales contract of the country with boers and the Nigerian conman.

  5. When it was time to negotiate for independence in London, Nkumbula was busy feasting to prostitutes and beer in London. KK and team negotiated for independence. Any surprise that while Lungu is correcting mistakes of many yeas and lock Zambia on development, others are signing sales contracts with boers to mortgage the country. Lets enjoy the ensuring tranquility realized in since.

    • At no time since independence have we seen so much violence, corruption , thuggery , moral decay and tribal divisions as of now since lungu took over…..

  6. Please unite the people of Zambia first. The country is now divided and there is increasing tribal hatred.Otherwise no other legacy will hold.

  7. There we go again , those supporting lungu and those against him for his dictatorial leanings…..

We need someone to step forward and try to bring both camps together for the benefit of the country otherwise we are in a vicious cycle……

    • I am sober and humble enough to know we need to resolve our differences here on LT in a civilised manner for the benefit of Zambia.. …..any one who knows about conflict resolutions pleas step forward…

LT maybe you can provide a forum for us all to air our grievances and move on with what needs to happen to move forward so every body looks forward….

  8. Spaka like Donkey at full throttle with embarrassing empty noises, there he goes again. Why doesn’t he spend just a little time thinking and then talk?

    • We open fire again then…..this is PF you see right here in the rat above, wanting to force their point of view on everyone….from lungu to the thugs he has as ministers to supporters like the above corrupt PF rat…

    • There is no law that requires any one to accept lungu, only in the corrupt minds of PF rats like your self who think of borrowing then looting 24/7..,…

  9. I don’t believe what I am looking at in the first picture. State house fish farm project? So, is that a Fish pond or a blocked yard drainage system with bits of rubbish floating?

    • Those are lungu fish ponds he was boasting about…..what do you expect ? When he was chawama mp he dug ditches without lining next to roads collapsing most roads ……..can anyone point at anything remarkable lungu has done in his many GRZ appointments. ….?..???

Of course the PF rats will point infrastructure being built but what they don’t see is that is using borrowed money , even a Chinama patient can borrow and build….big deal.

    • He greatly enhanced his bank account with 25 Million in seven months, real estate developments in Zambia, RSA and UAE, hundred thousands miles flown with chartered plane in company of “artistes”, reinvented highest mountain in Africa, held hundred press monologues on the tarmac, avoided any real press conference, reinvented meaning of “rule of law”, reinvented democratic principles………………………….

  10. Visionless and Sadist Lungu will leave behind a terrible legacy. The man has no idea and knowledge to oversee a modern functioning economy. The Chipante pante way of doing things will leave ruin behind. Lungu is Power Hungry and dreams to establish a One Man Dictatorship. Lungu is busy abusing State Institutions to punish his opponents. Hence Lungu has charged HH with fake Treason charges to punish and keep him in Jail without Trial. Lungu will one day pay the Price for persecuting his opponents and violating their Human Rights.

  11. Abakali tabalanda! Let others praise you and not your own mouth or you will soon hear your own Servant cursing you. We have always wished you success but you distract yourself by listening to wrong advice and doing terrible things that add no value to your legacy. See now what legacy you can build during your remainder of your time. One big dent on your legacy is the awful continued incarceration of HH and his followers. Free HHand all political prisoners unconditionally for meaningful dialogue to take place! Nevertheless the choice remains yours! Take a break from boot lickers and listen to the advice you never want to hear. That’s where the solution is.

    Shikulu asosa!

  12. @11.1 Spaka like Donkeys, there you go again off tangent. I am not talking about laws to recognise President Lungu, actually I never talk about that because I know that you know that we have a President in Zambia. If there wasn’t one, whom then does underfive want to dialogue with? Why are you accusing President Lungu of locking up underfive? Would he have power to lock up your underfive president? When he is found guilty of treason, who can give him the Presidential pardon? Who is the commander in Chief of Zambia’s armed and security forces? Whom do foreign dignitaries visit? To whom do foreign diplomats present their credentials, underfive president of UPNDonkeys or The President of the Republic of Zambia? Now you see why I don’t debate with UPNDonkeys on obvious things.
    All I was…

    • You PF rats can not force lungu onto people……period, and if he is so popular let him let people challenge him instead of jailing and sacking people…

  13. Spaka like Donkeys, look at the pictures, do you see there underfive as President of Zambia? What recognition when you yourself know WHO is the President and you can see HIM in the picture? Have UPNDonkeys become blind too? Bu Donkey nabo awe sure!

    • Lungu is an illegal president in the eyes of more than half of the voters, sworn in by a clerk after the Chief Justice refused…..that is until the petition is heard……..heck even his peace dove refused to fly at his swearing in ceremony..

But we all know he won’t see he petition , and as the saying goes if a suspected rapist refuses a DNA test he is hiding something….

  14. Naimwe ba Spaka like Donkey, bushe nalanda ati ndefwaya ukutalikana nama Donkey??
Kabiyeni mutalikane ne Donkey linenu uko ku Mukobeko.

  15. HH legacy Is of clinging to leadership for close to 20 years with allowing internal elections and losing presidential election 5times and ending his political career in prison.

    • Oh I forgot another thing …
Riding on a tribal card and stripping women in public. Lastly burning public infrustructure.

  16. You are doing very well, Sir! God bless you! It is true! You will be one of the greatest leaders for Zambia. Stay focused and don’t listen to losers and whiners. They are babies.

  17. If what we have seen so far is any indication of any legacy to write home about then I’m afraid it is a bad one. A legacy of vendetta and vindictiveness; a legacy of corruption and ‘wako-ni-wako’; a legacy of poverty and indebtedness; above all a legacy of dictatorship. Surely even his ardent supporters must be embarrassed by his excellence the powerful alpha and omega Edgar Lungu. This guy really lives in Utopian vision detached from his own reality. What a a scared dictator!

    • Dictatorship my foot. These must be the good dictators of the century. Kagame magufuli m7. … When opposition lose against the incumbent they are now calling them as dictators. Kikiki very funny indeed. You ve no clue what dictatorship is all about.

  18. All the insults and ill wishes on President Lungu are from Tongas why? Why don’t these Donkeys challenge their dead party to go and elect.new new leaders at a convention leaves much to.wonder and they think Zambians can stupid to be duped by them? Zero!

  19. To people like me, who have refused to recognise you as a democratically elected president, your legacy, we will always remember you for is that dununa reverse, taking us back to the one party state. You will be remembered for destroying that unity we enjoyed as Zambians, where we mingled together as one, where we intermarried and didn’t care whether we had mixed names. Your true legacy is your insecurity, where you think that those who don’t share your views whether as PF members within your party or those in the opposition are your enemies. When you surround yourself with thugs, oh no you become a thug, by beholding, you become changed. Your Legacy is that dark spot you have put on Zambia, that shame you are making us suffer as people living in the diaspora. Couldn’t believe a…

  20. UPND are loosing it. You cannot take anything away from this government. They have performed better than dome of us thought. Yes the got loans, but for good reasons. Corruption is not new and we all know how difficult it us to eradicate. Party divisions will always be there. Even in the western politics it us like that. The opposition will always look for something to criticise. Weldone PF government.

    • Not they got loans, they are getting loans…

And after borrowing and spending10 billion $ unemployment is at almost altime high with UN reports of child mautrition…

  21. Kuwaya waya fye Ba Lungu. Detached from Reality. What legacy is the PF going to leave for future generations? Continue dreaming. PF is history.
Yes your children and the children’ s children will never be broke. Yes the abandoned projects by PF cadres and their wives after being paid will live forever – the PF kleptocracy. The mass thievery on govt contracts will live forever in the poverty of the people. Lets have a reality check, please concourt conclude the munali and Lusaka central cases. The people of Zambia want to show how Ba Lungu has fallen from grace.

  22. Mr Prez , you are blowing your own trumpet before the sun sets on your leadership. Look at the calibre of your press and presidential advisers – says a lot about your leadership and level of judgement.

    • What you see is using borrowed money.. .anyone can do that….instead look at employment levels and what Zambia exports…

  23. Lungu is nothing but a paranoid wannabe Mugabe…..he blocked a peacfull UPND solidarity march for HH yet orders a solidarity march for himself in kitwe 2 days ago…..

  24. We are going to leave a legacy like nobody before us and after us. We’ll make sure Zambia and Zambians is/are indebted to time indefinite.

Look at the priceless fish ponds we are looking at now. We borrowed money and asked investors to invest in fish farming in our backyard for economic diversification. And if you ask how much was borrowed we are going to make sure it sounds small. Like dropping the zeros.

  25. SAD! PF is in denial. Calling others Donkeys SURE! NO in fact DOGS! SAD. SO MUCH FOR A CHRISTISN NATION. GOD HELP US!

  26. Very sad indeed…standing infront of an abandoned fish pond?? Legacy is a huge mission and starts with being principled on all facets.. We have a lot of table work and exemplifying to do before that word can even be used

  27. UPNDonkeys? I would rather be associated with a Donkey and Cow than a monkey or mice! Donkeys are hardworking, humble and honorable animals! Monkeys jump from one tree to another stealing and urinating on useless presidents. Mice carry vermin! It is the monkeys and mice that have brought a disaster and ruin to this country.
