The Media Institute of Southern Africa ( MISA ) Zambia says it has with immediate effect suspended its Board Member Wilson Pondamali as his conduct is incompatible with his office as a Board member.
MISA Zambia Vice Chairperson Elizabeth Mweene- Chanda says Mr. Pondamali has been suspended for bringing the name of the organisation into disrepute and inciting members to rise against the Board with his postings on social media which are incompatible with his office as a Board member.
Mrs Chanda said in a Statement to ZANIS today, alleged that Mr. Pondamali has been divulging information arising from discussions of the Board and or relating to internal matters of the Board and Secretariat, contrary to the principle of confidentiality to which he is bound to as a Board member.
Mr. Pondamali has also been isolating himself in relation to carrying out activities implying that there is inertia by other Board members which is contrary to the principle of team work and collective responsibility to which he is bound to as a Board member, she said.
Mrs Chanda said during his period of suspension, Mr. Pondamali shall not carry out any activities or issue statements in the name of, or, represent MISA Zambia in anyway.
