  1. I wouldn’t be surprised if the referee was not oiled…Zambia scored a clear goal by whatever standard. Even the replay shows that. Nigeria was under pressure and definitely the referee is singing his way to the bank. We know these things.. remember the game between SA and Senegal that FIFA has ordered a replay for… Referee Killed a good game.

    • Encourage FAZ to go to FIFA as Ghana has done against Uganda with your “facts” and see how laughable your presentation will be. Ghana’s complaint are from their FA and immediately after the match. Meanwhile Zambia’s “complaint” is from internet commentators. Please help FAZ do it and tell us the result.

  2. I don’t no if they do punish?, is a referee a corliffeid ? Coz even him self knos that Zambia worn a game FIFA can look for that .

  3. For sure, that was a very genuine goal. Nigerians are well convinced in their hearts that that was a genuine goal. FAZ must put up a strong case. The boys put up a gallant fight.

    • Wrong of you. Your player pretended not to have heard the referee’s whistle. The linesman also raised his flag the moment your player had contact with the ball. The angle the camera showed was deceptive compared to the true situation on the ground and your players knew it, that’s why they didn’t protest except your pretending attacker who pretended not to know. You guys surprise me. May be that’s why you’ve not yet qualified for the World Cup. May be in the future you could succeed, but for this one, you weren’t good enough on the field to knock out Nigeria. Watch Nigeria’s goal against Zambia and you’ll know that’s the stuff champions are made of: with all Zambian players around the eighteen yard box, they couldn’t stop the goal. They failed when it mattered most. Please stop…

  4. Like lungu stole the election, Nigeria has stolen this game. I don’t see any offside here. But docile Zambia won’t make an issue of this blatant theft. Like they always keep quiet when their protest voices are needed!

    • Like what one lady said “if we stole this victory, then we stole it together.

The wages of taking pf cadres as football supporters cost us a game.

    • That’s some trash from you man. You lost to a superior team that outsmarted you technically on the field. You keep blaming referee. Please watch the Germans and others. It’s not the beauty or athleticism or possession but your technical intelligence at scoring. Offside:linesman raised his flag and referee blew his whistle and your player kept pretending not to know or hear. You rate that as a goal. Please cheer up.

  5. Clear offside guys, the camera angle you’ll get the reply from was poor, the line man raised the flag before your poor striker strike. Take heart and prep for the next one or better still aim for the next AFCON. When will Zambian win World U17?…… OR sorry, Zambia won World U20 lols…. Stop the ranting guys, we call such Medicine after death.

    • Don’t mind these commentators. It’s because of people like these that’s why they’ve not qualified for World Cup yet. How can people be so full of sentiments creating goals in their minds? The players on the field who should have known better, didn’t protest. It was a harpless attacker who pretended not to have heard the referee’s whistle ahead of his attempt at scoring not to talk of the linesman’s flag that was raised immediately he had contact with the ball. They played well and we commend them for the challenge. That’s good for African football but they should please stop this culture of blaming someone else for their failure. Zambia played well and I believe they could still trouble the likes of Nigeria in the future. For now, they lacked the technical ability to have over ran…

    • Yes @Luapula Bize. World Cup material they’re !!! Beat you home and away- better than you’re technically on the field. Modern football is not about beauty on the field but creation and converting of chances, not forcing offside situation into goals. You engaged a PE man as coach whose emphasis is on athleticism against creating and converting chances and you guys blame the referee for what? Wait for the World Cup proper and see an even improved Nigerian team. We thank Zambia for challenging Nigeria. It’s good for growth of African football. But please your level right now is able to beat some top five teams of Africa, but not all of them. You’re growing and we pray it’s to the glory of Africa. We criticise our team always and don’t support them blindly as you guys do yours. We…

  6. Not that Zambia deserved to win; but looking at the Nigerian team, we serious need better teams at the World Cup. Other than the Cameroun of 1990 and the Nigeria of 1994, the current representation looks so ordinary.

    • A team that beat you home and away is by far better than you are. What are the better teams? Tell us. Certainly this Zambian team is not one of them for now. As low as you rate the Nigerian team, they’ve got technical ability far better than the Zambian team for now. This you must accept and agree with by the results. Germany don’t play beautiful football. They convert chances. That’s modern football, man!!! Cheer up. You could be the team another season.

    • I’m not a Nigerian, but Nigeria is by far, the best representative Africa has got in the world cup. Don’t forget their qualification is a cumulative result of several key victories, even if you claim this one was not. They were not offside when they scored 2 goals against Zambia right in your backyard, or when they walloped Cameroon 4-0. Stop the envy. How many Zambian players can get into the top clubs the Nigerian Stars Play for? With a little bit of form and fine-tuning they will sure make us proud in Russia.

  7. @zat you sound too personal and childish. Please note everyone has the right to own opinion. You seem to be marking every opinion (its not in class)- just give yours and move on…thats the meaning of the game – win or lose!!! life goes on…

    • @James, most of the Zambian commentators here are the childish and personal. You sound so emotional. This comment has given you away even with your pretences of go between. I’ve given mine severally and because truth is not tolerated it’s seen as personal and childish. In as much as they have right to their opinion, I have right to a reply. sure life goes on.

  8. you can tell how these Nigerian chaps are getting so defensive, it is said that good wine needs not to be advertised, we do not need you blank synopsis to explain how good or bad your team is. it can clearly be seen by people with the technical know-how. we shall meet again, that i can assure you that is when you are going to prove your own words wrong or right. as it is now please just glorify the Tswana ref.

  9. Obviously qualification is clouding Nigeria thinking they are a good team. Look at how they struggled to get a goal at home yesterday. They go play like that in Russia, they will be on the next flight back home. Trust me

  10. In Russia Nigeria are just going as football peagents… Just 2 showcase their starting 11…and as usual fail to make it to the next round.

  11. FAZ should appeal disallowed goal! I smell a rat! Quality teams must not be compromised! Nigeria will go there as mere passengers!

  12. Aww…..what a clear case of sour grapes you Zambians are! Your team is good and gave us a real fight, but it is a team for the future, not the present. Winning the African U20 Championships and reaching the quarterfinals of the U-20 World Cup for the first time doesn’t mean you now have the best team in Africa. FYI, Nigeria has reached the final of the U-20 twice! Did you know that if not for your goalkeeper Mweenee’s leadership qualities, Nigeria (and indeed Algeria because of whom, you’re boasting arrogantly) would have ripped your team apart? As for the goal which you claim was wrongly ruled out, it is only you Zambians that are screaming blue murder! News outlets all over Africa know that your striker was offside, unlike the game between Uganda and Ghana, in which everyone knew…

  13. I do not see them past the second round. For sure when they face world class strikers they just can’t make a grade. Senegal deserves to go to Russia.

  14. Nigerian are not good they’ll be bundled out in the 1st round.Winning games with the assistance of bribing referees with oil money doesn’t mean Nigerians are worldcup material.

  15. …Ghana was robbed and have lodged an appeal with FIFA. Let FAZ lodge an appeal with FIFA if they think they have a clear case. But stop using that as an excuse, because Nigeria beat you fair and square! We lost our tough tackler in Onazi, whereas you lost no one. For those of you who say our team isn’t good enough to be at the World Cup, one game against you guys isn’t enough to judge us. And don’t kid yourselves into thinking you have a better team or couldbus

  16. The home and away wins against that 1 point team (Algeria) has really gotten into the heads of the Zambian faithful.

    I can’t tell you not to support your team so I won’t. All I will say is please watch the replay of that ‘goal’ again and tell me;

At what point did the linesman raise his flag?

Was it after the ‘goal’ was scored or at the instant the ball was headed on to the scorer?

Had all the Nigerian players apart from one not stopped playing, respecting the refs whistle?

The fact is this, if the ball wasn’t headed on, it would not have been offside. The minute it came off that guy’s head it was offside! Close call but correct call. Sorry.

You see with all due respect the sort of antics your striker displayed by playing on when the ref had called for offside…

  17. We lost to a technically superior side. I’m a Zambian and I love the boys but let us concede defeat and stop complaining. Ref’s decision is final- well, at least for our game. The time has come for us to man up and accept that we lost and got booted out. It is over. What we should do now is to support our brother’s i.e. all the qualifying African teams. That surely is the right thing to do?!
