Are you telling us there is no corruption in Zambia? The ACC are collecting their salaries every month for doing what exactly? A bad public relations stunt, if you ask me. We heard this from Chiluba when his ministers were being accused of corruption. But did the call for evidence and shielding of corrupt ministers help the image of Chiluba’s government? No, it did not. It showed lack of political will to fight corruption. Chiluba’s government lost so much popularity that when he tried to go for a third term people simply said they had had enough of him and showed him the exit. This is what is likely to happen to Edgar Lungu’s government because it has decided to become intolerant of opposed views and clearly lacks political will to fight corruption. We may ask how many cases of corruption have been prosecuted under Lungu’s rule. The the answer is clearly none.
