Eastern Province Permanent Secretary, Chanda Kasolo has threatened to cancel the contract for Sable Construction Company to tar the Kalindawalo road in Chipata District.
This comes in the wake of complaints from stakeholders during a consultative meeting to review the performance of the province for the year 2017 and how it intends to work in the year 2018.
Mr. Kasolo said the road has been done for the third time now because construction works which were undertaken were not fully completed.
He said every time the contractor was approached, he showed seriousness by bringing a lot of machinery on site but later abandoned the works.
Mr. Kasolo wondered how the contractor was given contracts all over the country when he had not completed most contracts in the area.
‘’ The same road has been done for the third time now and he only shows seriousness when he has been talked to and when you turn your back, he also stops, ‘’ he complained.
Meanwhile, the PS has instructed the department of immigration to scrutinize people selling merchandise on the streets of Chipata to ascertain their nationality.
Mr. Kasolo said he had received reports of some residents being robbed by people suspected to come from a neighbouring country who go to Chipata to trade in various types of merchandise.
He said those who will be found not to be Zambians should have their merchandise confiscated before being deported to their countries of origin.
Mr. Kasolo has called on Chipata City Council to remove vendors from the streets and put them in designated trading places.
And During the consultative meeting, various stakeholders also expressed concern that the district was looking dirty because of street vendors.
Kasolo brothers are hard-working and honest. He should be brought to Lusaka, maybe he can clean the dirty city and put lights in the streets. We don’t even know who the Permanent Secretary is. I’m sure if we check the Auditor General report we can finally know who he is.

I LOVE THISI KASOLO GUY. HE IS ONE OF THE VERY FEW GUYS I HAVE COME TO KNOW AS HARD-WORKING AND HONEST PERSON WHO MEANS DEVELOPMENT FOR THE COUNTRY. EVEN WHEN HE WAS IN THE LUAPULA PROVINCE HW MANAGED TO DRAW THE WORLD’S ATTENTION TO LUAPULA PROVINCE TO THE WORLD. WE NEED MORE OF THE KASOLO TYPE FOR ZAMBIA TO IMPROVE RAPIDLY. I STAND TO BE PROVED WRONG ABOUT KASOLO.
Ba Sable seem not to be serious judging from a layman’s point of view. Just how long it has taken them to tar a road passing through Jubeva college, a stretch of less than 3km is of great concern. Today you find machinery dumped at the site,the next time you pass through, the machinery is not there …with no works done. Their working culture is bad. It would be very disappointing to see them being awarded more contracts.
Rhetoric! Your predecessors issued more serious threats. Check through your records you ‘ll discover that Sable was once black listed because of dishonest and poor workmanship

Remember how long they took to finish Luwingu- Kasama road. If you Mr Kasolo will ask that question as of why Sable has been given projects all over the country when they have so much more work dotted about unfinished .Then what other admission of guilty of corruption is the ant corruption commission waiting for to abyss this demon called Corruption?
RESPONSE TO DR. KASOLO’S THREATS TO CANCEL SABLE CONTRACTS
Dear Dr. Kasolo. This is not the first time you have condemned Sable Construction Company. Remember in 2015 you condemned him because of poor workmanship on Mfuwe Road? What happened a few weeks later? A minister travelled all the way to come and praise Sable and say the quality of work by sable was of very high standard. You condemned sable on Radio Breeze and the said minister used the same radio station to “cancel what you had said.
Dr Kasolo, I know how hard working you are. You may not be an angel, but you try hard to be honest. However, the challenge you have is that you are in a wrong group.
Dr. Kasolo, Sable is too big for you. Others have tried but have failed. Only Mwanawasa succeeded, but he went so early. Dr. Kasolo, am afraid but I should mention to you that politicians and senior civil servants have made sable too powerful to be controlled. Now he is controlling the government machinery. Only us who are outside can see this. Sable has become a serious threat to national security. How did Bin Ladin become a world threat? I leave it to you to Google. Please check how many times Sable has been paid for the township Roads in Chipata. Compare the payments to the works that have been done. Dr. you are too small for Sable. Ask Andrew Zulu, the Engineer at Chipata City Council why he had been transferred to Mongu. If he does not mention that it was
because of Kafula Road (From Auditor General past Kapata Market to Jere) poor quality works by sable, then let me be forgiven. Andrew tried very hard to force sable to do the right thing, but alas, Andrew ended up being transferred. Up to now, Kafula Road is incomplete- 4 years down the line. I am writing this to show you why we cannot develop as a nation. I remember one day you told Chipata residents that in countries where there is no corruption, there is development. Mr, PS, please present your concerns and the concerns of the Chipata residents to the President. Maybe he can do something. This advice is free. Together we can develop.
Dr. Kasolo, do you remember the Nyimba issue where before the tender procedures were completed Sable had already moved his fake machinery to Nyimba? When this was asked in a council meeting, the answer was that the equipment was on its way to Lusaka. Did the equipment reach Lusaka? NO. Sable was awarded the contract to work on Nyimba township roads. Please let us be serious. This is very hurting. Ask Sable today why he has not completed Kalindawaro Road, he will tell you that he has NOT been funded. LIES! Sable has become a serious threat to National Security! He is controlling government machinery and no one can cough.

Sable Construction Company” cannot be pronounced by any opposition leader including Imbwili. Have you heard of any political leader talk about Sable’s poor workmanship? The answer is NO! Why? Could he be assisting to raise campaign funds even for the opposition? I challenge the opposition party leaders, including HH and Imbwili to take stock of what Sable is doing to Zambian.
The church has also been a culprit in this matter. Has he “donated” some building materials to churches? Has he had meetings with church leaders- Pastors and priests?
By the way, Sable has employed a Malawian Engineer. Zambia does not have qualified engineers!
Dr. Kasolo, I hope you will manage to cancel Sable’s Road Contracts in Eastern Province.

Sable Transport are swindling the government with millions of USD. They are not fit to be doing roads constructions. They don’t have even have a single engineer that knows the roads construction .They don’t have heavy machinery except a few old graders and rollers .This Indian family owned business are damn big time crooks.
