All Luapula Province PF structures on Friday marched in solidarity with President Edgar Lungu and called for the expulsion of former Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba from the party.
About 700 PF cadres from the 12 constituencies in Luapula province petitioned Provincial Minister Nixon Chilangwa demanding expulsion of Mr Kalaba who is also Bahati Member of Parliament.
The cadres mostly the youths and women marched from Chilyapa market to the provincial administration office and demanded that Mr. Kalaba leaves the PF as he could not continue serving as MP in a party he has labeled corrupt.
Luapula Province PF secretary Francis Musunga, who led the march, challenged Mr. Kalaba to resign as member of parliament.
“What you are seeing here today are members from all structures in the province. There are about 700 people here and we have we marched to send a message of support President Edgar Lungu who is also the president of our party PF,”he said.
“We also petitioned that Honorable Kalaba has resigned as Foreign Affairs Minister and he is actually saying he cannot work with people who are corrupt. But it is us as PF who put him in that position as member of parliament. Why should he keep his position? So we are challenging him to resign or else we have submitted the matter before the central committee who are going to decide the issue. What we are pushing for is that he be removed as member of parliament for Bahati,” Mr. Musunga narrated.

If Kalaba is sincere with wisdom, some conscience and strategy, he should never gamble with the dream of entering the 2021 race but 2026. Anything short of this will vindicate the masses that he has nothing to give Zambians on the allegations made so far other than acting on ambitions and self frustration having realized that PF is set for the incumbent come 2021. Chagwa has good political capital to expend to easily trounce all his opponents now acting out of frustration and emotions other than substance. He just need to make some few significant land mark decisions at a stroke of a pen in best national interest. He just need to redeem himself from anything holding hostage. Kolela rules only applies to lusaka province. These people are exercising there democratic rights just like hk did when he resigned. The good thing about pf is that they don’t respect tribe more the a Zambian. In upnd they can’t revolt against their mp even if he has failed them. When pf was voted in power the civil service was maintained and these are the ones who controls public affairs. A politician is 90%of his time in parliament while these guys are ever in offices stealing. No mp is a signatory to any government account. Only the under5s who have never been in government can connect corruption to the party. Kalaba used a fake reason for corruption because he knew what was coming ahead of him.
This country will be on fire once the court rules that ECL is not eligible for 2021!!! PF is simply not prepared, these people will go wild. For the sake of peace, I continue to call upon the court to make that decision sooner, to give these PF party chance to organize themselves.
Where is democracy in PF, when you are busy suppressing elements of democracy? we need people like Henry Kalaba who have courage and integrity to stand up and say things are not right.

Kalaba discovered that their money meant for their improved welfare was being stolen and pocketed by a few privileged individuals. He protested and resigned in solidarity with them and their response is to crucify him.
If you pulled one aside and explained the impact of corruption on their lives, they will probably tell you that this was not explained to them by party officials who appreciated their demonstration by distributing Mahehu and Shake Sheki.
Considering the hunger, such a paid match should have attracted more participants. It was a flop.
