Nkana open Zimbabwe tour with draw

Share

Nkana began their two-week pre-season tour of Zimbabwe with a draw against FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane.

The match ended in a 0-0 in a game that saw stand-in coach Manfred Chabinga start three new signings.

Chabinga is standing in for Beston Chambeshi who recently returned from Chipololopolo duty at 2018 CHAN in Morocco.

Ghana-born goalkeeper Stephen Adams, defender Gift Zulu who joined from Forest Rangers and striker Festus Mbewe who has rejoined Nkana on a season-long loan from Red Arrows all started.

Mbewe also opened his Nkana account in the 42nd minute but hesitated in front of goal before the danger was averted by Platinum defender Kelvin Moyo.

Platinum had two great chances with the first coming in the 53rd minute when Platinum midfielder Never Tigere saw his goal-bound shot come off Nkana defender.

Then midfielder Rodwell Chinyengetere saw his 65th effort came off Nkana’s post.
