Football association of Zambia ( FAZ ) Communications manager Desmond Katongo says the football governing body will pay outstanding qualification allowances to the Chipolopolo national team that participated in the 2018 African Championship of Nations (CHAN) in Morocco.

ZANIS sports reports Katongo saying in a telephone interview, today, that the due allowances will soon be paid to the team mid of this month as soon as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) releases the funds owed for qualifying to the CHAN tournament.

Katongo stated that the team that was in Morocco for CHAN were paid the win allowance while in Morocco what is not paid is the qualifying allowance to the competition.

Meanwhile Katongo explained that the association has no planes of employing a new coach for now, Wedson Nyirenda is still Zambia’s coach.

He was reacting to speculations by sections of social media claiming that Nyirenda and FAZ are set to part company.

And Katongo says FAZ is meanwhile looking forward for international friendly games in readiness for qualifying games for the coming 2019 African cup of nations that will be hosted by Cameroon.

  1. When do you developed your own expert coaches if locals are not given chance to gain the experience. Expatriate coaches are like mercenaries who don’t add permanent to the game.Expose locals ad much as possible. Maintain the technical bench. However, a technical director must a mature and former National Coach for many years, not just because he played football outside Zambian. This is the reason why the under 20 performed poorly, I mean the new under 20

  2. Its funny that players get their hard earned allowances so late when FAZ could instead allow Ponga to draw USD 10 000 loan. Why didn’t he get that loan from his bank? I guess its scratch my back and I will scratch yours with Kamanga. Wither soccer administration in Zambia!!

  3. I stand to be corrected an experiate coach is after money and doesn’t stay longer with the team our own coaches also don’t perform to the fans expectations so i don’t know which is which look at our 2 wing backs silwimba and kapumbu they never change all thèir are good at is wen it comes to throw ins

  4. Player selection that’s where we have a problem. How can they pick Sautu and leave Sate Sate? Yesterday Sautu failed to score for his team. Foolish selection is what is killing our football. At under 20 chimochine you pick ama Rubbish at ma players.
