To all mature citizens, It’s Fred’s constitutional right to belong to any party of his choice. This must be respected in a functional democracy. We only implore him to draw his leadership mandate from the party national convention asap before putting his name to the Zambian tripartite elections ballot in 2021 as a Presidential candidate.
He should avoid the temptation of being allergic to party elections the way of HH. Democracy begins at home in which case the sponsoring party. Let the pro-democracy constitutional help entrench intra-party democracy in new and old parties.

I would love to be proved wrong but this is a non-starter in the current political environment. If he wanted to join politics, he should have done it when he still had momentum and influence, when he was still ‘hot’ (if you know what I mean).
You necessarily have to join politics to make a positive contribution to the political climate… obviously it’s hard to accomplish in Africa, let alone today’s Zambia.
