The Zambia Center for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) has released a road map towards the holding of the Political Parties Dialogue meeting.

ZCID Chairperson Nathan Mulonga had told journalists in Lusaka that the dialogue process will start with the holding of a National Democratic Stakeholders Summit from 14th May, 2018 which will facilitate for an inclusive dialogue process.

Mr. Mulonga says participants will be drawn from Civil Society Organizations, Faith Based Organizations, Traditional Establishments, Academia, Political Activists and the Legal Fraternity.

Mr. Mulonga, who is also Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) Secretary General, says this will be followed with the hosting of the Political Parties meeting from 22nd to 25th May, 2018 which will facilitate for a forum for all registered political parties to discuss various issues affecting them.

He says this will later be followed by a meeting with Secretary Generals of Political parties from 11th to 13th June, 2018 to set the agenda for a summit of all presidents of political parties.

Mr Mulonga adds that the Summit of Presidents will be held from 15th to 16th June, 2018.

  1. Why the rush iwe Mulonga. Infact you are affiliated to a political party and so this bulls!t is not transparent. We need an organisation that is free of local politics. Ni Zwaa!

    • ….. meaning a foreign organisation like the Commonwealth? Even when the Commonwealth has clearly said they would like to help facilitate the dialogue, Zambians want it to take centre stage. Why cant we sit and resolve our own issues?
Africa will never be independent because Africans cannot solve their own problems – it be hunger, academic (they rush to their former colonisers, health etc. When will Africa be Independent. No matter how educated an African can be they will never solve their own problems. Here in Zambia Lungu and HH are failing to solve the problems that affect Zambia. They and their supporters want a foreigner, especially a Muzungu to solve their problems. In Rwanda, when the Muzungu could not solve their problems – they killed themselves like rats – the only solution…

    • You cannot resolve your own issues because you have failed to feed yourselves. A significant portion of your fiscal policy is funded by outsiders.

Start sorting out your mess from there. Regain your dignity stop licking porridge off foreign fingers.

  2. Wonders will never end, the road map is now in place just because Lungu said so. This ZCID is a white elephant whose purpose no one knows. The fact that lungu said they should be at the center of this dialogue gives impetus to the sleeping, dormant and out of touch with reality, docile gathering of corrupt elements who want to deep their filthy fingers in the treasury. An opportunity has presented itself and rightly so, and now a road map has surfaced from nowhere? This should have been done a longtime ago and on your own instead of waiting for instructions from an interested party. This is what the commonwealth have been doing all along. So who is going to respect this gibberish and sham of dialogue propagated by people with alien interests

  3. No harm in trying but the chances are it will lead to nothing because not even laws of the republic are respected. What power of sanction does ZCID have? The Commonwealth would have been preferable because it has some kind of powers to sanction and it used them to get HH out of prison.

  4. Zambia has been on this road before. This is an exercise in futility by ZCID, there are trust issues with partisan and inept ZICD. Why not let the respected commonwealth complete what they started.

  5. This was supposed to be a joint statement to indicate that parties to the process have agreed to this roadmap. In the absence of that ZCID isn’t going anywhere. Most Zambian politicians are so mediocre that they will spend more time discussing preliminaries and will have nothing to say about the real issues. So ZCID must tread cautiously

  6. Kenya or to be more specific Uhuru Kenyatta had blatantly rejected foreign intervention. Iwe muno mu Zambia ufuna otherwise, WHY????

    • The late Micheal Sata rejected ZCID when he was president of the then Opposition party PF.He called them stooges of the ruling government. He expelled all the PF MPs who fratenised with the ZCID and later became president of Zambia .
What has changed now about ZCID…

    • In Kenya local dispute settlement mechanisms in form of the courts are working. That political issues that were subject of litigation are still going to ZCID is an admission that the courts have failed to help settle constitutional/political issues. Getting political issues right and settled is a prelude to successful economic management and development which is the more challenging issue in national self-determination. All leading nations have had to get their politics right before they could deal with economic challenges because it is a united people who face up to the task of managing the economy. If you can’t get the politics right, you have less chance of succeeding in getting the economy right.

  7. Compromised gang….where were they or where are they when the opposition is being maimed by the PF goons directed by kapoyongo ???

  8. The late Micheal Sata rejected ZCID when he was president of the then Opposition party PF.He called them stooges of the ruling government. He expelled all the PF MPs who fratenised with the ZCID and later became president of Zambia .
What has changed now about ZCID…

  9. UPND, Kambwili, Sinkamba, socialist party, Heritage Party, FDD, say NO, it has been high jacked, why not commonwealth lead by Prof. G, who is knowledgeable and an African

  10. ZCID SHOULD BE STOPPED TOGETHER WITH THE UN resident rep immediately we are not interested with that fake road map. Let Commonwealth pick this program and continue. Where were you ba Sakala with your PF constituency of ZCID PF bedroom. Don’t take Zambia for games you crooks.

  11. WITH OR WITHOUT THE SO CALLED DIALOGUE, ECL WILL CONTINUE AS STATE PRESIDENT UNTIL 2021. THE CW IS NOT IN A HURRY TO FORCE YOU TO DIALOGUE. IF YOU FAIL TO DIALOGUE ITS YOUR FAULT. DONT BLAME ANY ONE. AND NOTE THAT THE PARTY IN POWER WILL BE THE WINNER IN THE END. IN SHORT, PLEASE DIALOGUE WITHOUT DEPENDING ON OTHERS TO INFLUENCE YOU. WE ARE A SOVEREIGN STATE.
