14TH ANNUALFUNDRAISING WALKFOR CHESHIRE HOME SOCIETY OF ZAMBIA

STATE HOUSE says there is nothing scandalous about the comment made jokingly by President Lungu during the fundraising walk in Lusaka on Saturday.

A Video has appeared on social media where President Lungu is joking with those who were contributing towards the Cheshire Homes Fundraising walk.

According to the Zambia National Broadcasting Coorperation (ZNBC) Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Mr Amos Chanda, said State House is saddened that detractors want to mischaracterise President Lungu’s noble intentions to raise funds for the vulnerable people by taking his comment out of context.

Mr Chanda said President Lungu was merely reinforcing an apology for inconveniencing mototriste during the event.

He said the Heaf of State made the Statement in a joking manner to emphasise his apology.

“When He was moving from car to car to the other, he made a comment to emphasise the apology he was making at everyturn to every vehicle and every pedestrian he met. He rendered an apology that the motorists had to forgive us for abusing our powers today for a noble cause to raise funds for the underprivaleged.

“Yes, he made the Statement which detractors have chosen to mischaracterise the President” He said.

    • Sometimes there are certain Jokes u just dont tell … these PF will keep explaining the president away all the time. For a lawyer Chagwa often misses it

    • Lungu just announced what we already know.

      – Currently Lungu is abusing power through rotten judiciary to imprison Fresher Siwale by telling him to bring 2 SENIOR CIVIL SERVANTS as sureties for his bail. Tell me which Civil Servant can risk being retired just for Siwale?
      – He is abusing power to further his daughter’s illegal Mukula tree trading.
      – Lungu is abusing Presidency to charge Chinese $200,000 per delegation to meet him
      – Lungu abused Constitutional court to quash petition
      – Lungu is abusing powers by selling land, State institutions, markets to foreigners
      – Lungu is abusing Public Order Act to oppress opposition
      – Lungu is abusing power by reckless borrowing thus indebting our country with $-Billions we can’t repay
      – Lungu is abusing ZICTA to threaten bloggers…

    • CONT’D…..

      – Lungu is abusing ZICTA to threaten bloggers. People in Zambia fear even discussing politics over the phone like it’s in UNIP Era.

    • And we wonder why this lazy bum Edgar/Jonathan never hosts press conferences as he is a Public Relations Department’s worst nightmare….I mean here the whole President hassling taxpayers for donations on the streets instead of formulating policies so that Charities like Cheshire Home Society could be better subsidized. Does State House Police evaluate the security risks of such ventures …they are lucky Zambians are a docile people, in other countries they would tell him off there on the streets!!

    • That’s why I love this guy, ECL!!! The average guys on the streets get him, intellectuals and elites don’t.

He’s not only street smart he’s also politically savvy. At one point I thought the most politically savvy President of all times was MCS.

ECL is miles ahead, without eloquence his blurbs are easy to misconstrue and misquote but at the end of the day he drives his point home.

It’s those small politically inspired nuggets coupled with delivery at every turn that make him a common man’s President.

People can easily relate to that not the Utopian prognostic appeals others sort for. He might end being the most hated by his detractors but most loved by his electorate.

      Nothing betwixt …

    • Distorted when you can hear and see him talk? Are you retarded? Kwati nichilya baponeshe ninshi nichi baby.

    • B R Mumba pretends to be a Christian but he is a satanist, praising and bootlicking anything and everything that his crumb-throwers does and says.

    • If that alleged statement was made jokingly by ECL, it’s a silly one. Furthermore, if it was a joke, he shouldn’t have referred to KK’s 27 years rule. But alas, it couldn’t have been a Joke but a 2021 campaign (Presidential statement).

    • @senior is a junior … stop it!!! Just stop your nonsense. You need to be ashamed of yourself by starting and stating falsehoods.

You can do better than that lower IQ hogwash.

  1. Always taken out of context. Learn to handle him well. How many times are you going to justify his missdeeds? I even wonder which powers he was abusing in fundraising!

    • That man’s legal credentials need to be investigated, yes Kabimba stated that they were together at UNZA with a number of current Concourt Judges and their lecture was Azizi Tiklay but this man is too daft to be a lawyer as he does not differentiate between bar talk and official business in this world of smartphones and 24/7 social media.

    • The power to inconvenience motorists and Pedestrians.

Kaunda and Chiluba also used to do this, including stopping traffic each time they’re passing.

Since Sata, the President rarely stops traffic as he usually uses the Helicopter to and from the Airport.

    • No matter how hard most will try to derail them, the smart people of the Zambian Enterprise are the masters of their own feat and the captains of their own souls, so help us God!!

That’s how we run this country and there’s didley squat they can do about it.

      Heaven help us all …

  2. “Out of the abundance of the mouth, the heart speaks”, a brother will help me with the exact scripture.

    • Ba Fwanya … the “lapdogs” title is a little too much but you have a very strong point.

Overall, an average smart person has an IQ of about 100. To graduate from college/university most students need at least an IQ of about 118.

On the other hand, an average President anywhere in the world has an IQ ranging between 120 and 169.75. Most college professors average 119.

At 130, you are a genius and yet most bloggers here range from college/university grads to college/university professors ranging between 118 and 119.

They are not smart enough to get into even the lower percentiles of 120s let alone be geniuses above 130. That’s the reason your “but time” phrase makes sense.

With time, the more they blog the more you discover they are actually empty tins with low IQs…

    • Continued…

With time, the more they blog the more you discover they are actually empty tins with low IQs.

They have papers (clever way to distinguish themselves) but no brains (smarts to operationalize anything significant) and to make it as a President.

To most of them it (the presidency) feels impenetrable; a glass ceiling they can never break thus their venting spells on LT.

Even some of the worst presidents had a higher IQ believe it or not. For instance, Idi Amin’s IQ was through the wazoo, Muammah Gaddafi’s was spectacular and I can go on and on.

So don’t lose sleep over them, most of them are lower IQ, lower libido, lower on smarts, lower on average, lower on morals, lower on everything but they are still human being so don’t equate them to dogs.

      You’re the…

  3. People are already overburdened with taxes, toll gates, high cost of living. etc, how much money can be raised from these fundraising walks? Just tell the ministers to donate from some of their loot from fire trucks, ambulances, mukula trees, corruption and pilfering that have occurred in the last three years. When its PF events its 20,000ZMW entry fee. Those people in buses cant even afford to buy decent food while on those trips. He said it and we have heard for ourselves maybe, he took something, no amount of justification will change a thing kaili uubomba mwibala alya mwibala now going for the seed? kkkkk.

    • If the people who built Schools and hospitals here were thinking like you, you would still be primitive and malnourished.

But Charities are there to supplement Government efforts.

Just like you have to work hard to fend for your family. You don’t wait for GRZ to do everything just because you pay taxes.

      BOMA IYANGANEPO…, My foot..!

  4. Why didn’t they just hold one fundraising dinner dance? Am very sure they could have raised much more than they raised on the streets

  5. Why is this guy always putting his foot in it? This is the soundbite generation – you MUST adapt and act accordingly. Either be blatant or be interesting. Not this lukewarm joking strategy that always gets detractors hot under the collar…

  6. Every time this man speaks someone must follow up to offer clarity and explanation. Maybe he must not be speaking at all except with a written script in front of him! Image builders where are you, theres a contract for you..

    • A lot of similarities with Donald Trump. When sends a tweet, the white house do alot of explaining to make sense out of it.It is becoming a world trend.

  7. Amos Chanda tries to twist the truth but true message was heard from the president. Anyway that what he is paid for is to paint black to look white. He equally tried to twist uubomba mwibala but the contineous plunder justifies the uubomba mwibala remarks. Amos Chanda shall fully regret defending wrongs when he leaves state house to join the community he finds pleasure in hoodwinking all the time.

  8. Amos, silence is golden! the learned got it right that the President was just having a light moment with commuters. Next time don’t bother to respond to detractors.
The president who had a highest level of humour was the late FTJ, Edgar comes second, and these two have had easy to mingle personalities.

  9. Disgusting in bad taste joke especially when there’s real abuse of power! The nonchalant attitude is nauseous to see. Excuse me while I throw up!!!

  10. He doesn’t laugh. He doesn’t joke. He wears red. He looks sad and bitter.

He privatized and wired money offshore

  11. A joke in bad taste but atleast this time chanda has offered a fairly plausable and understandable explanation…….

It must be remembered lungu is from the tarvens of chawama……

  12. What exactly did he actually say again? It can’t be a joke if it has to be clarified… a joke about abuse of power when there is real abuse of power, that’s a bad joke. It’s like Trump trying to make a joke about mass shooting when one has just taken place.

As for this so called fundraising, Lungu really knows how to play to the gallery… just making a mockery of fundraising and the poor. As someone pointed out above, if he was really serious, he could have put a plug on rampant corruption, misappropriation and mismanagement of public funds, starting with him and all that grand theft involving the Malawi maizegate, Ndola dual carriageway, ambulances, fire trucks, Mukula trees, hospital drugs, fuel, salaries, travel over expenditures, etc.

  13. Is there really abuse of power in fundraising.

The more you hate him the more we love him Yabbaaa cant wait for another funeral malilo in 2021

As long as he stands forget about hh.

If hh will stand in 2026 we shall make sure we give ecl third term

  14. how does fundraising on a bus become abuse of office. Come on Zambians have a life. Now a man cant even have a light moment ninshi its drama. All work and no smile makes someone a bitter man. i ve never heard him crack a single joke except when he adopted Charmaine . That was the best joke he ever cracked

  15. The PF and president Lungu are in the lead in all fields. With the UPND putting a ” so tambe ” to run in Chilanga, with the Raimbow party being in tour mode, the socialists being gayy, NDC clueless, all Lungu has to do is sip tea and not speak. That is his only job.

  16. I dont like PF, but I like Lungu as a person, if only he could fire the currupt people around him (Kaizer, Amos, Kampyongo, Chitotela and Jean Kapata). If he could also remove MMD members such as Dora and finally if he could show leadership by not allowing cadres to run the police and operate above the law he would win the 2021 with out a doubt.

    • TITUS MUSANKWA,
THIS IS WHAT I THINK ALSO.YOU LEFT OUT ONE STUPID FELLOW BOWMAN LUSAMBO.
THESE PEOPLE INSULTED SATA MHSRIP. DORA USED TO SAY THAT SATA PUTS ON BOMBASA AND LUSAMBO AT ONE TIME ON THE C/B ALMOST ROUGHED UP SATA.
WE RISKED OUR LIVES WHEN WE CAMPAIGNED FOR SATA FROM WILLIAM BANDA.
SURELY HOW CAN DORA SILIYA BE A MINISTER IN PF GOVT?I SUPPORT CK ON THIS ONE.

  17. In our heads, “psychiatrics heads,” “he is an abuser!” “He is also a dictator!” To the sane, these are code words of a tribal gathering meaning “Only a Tonga can do better!”

  18. I don’t like UPND, but I like HH as a person! If he could fire corrupt people around him like GBM, I will support the party! Mmmm!

  19. I am sure the tribal gathering now knows without a shadow of a doubt, there is nothing for them come 2021. Watch this space! You can be as insolent as want to be, but we all know the Maths! And it is Hagainst you!

  20. Maximum support towards a noble cause in the country can only come from the President. Not from ministers. Not from volunteers. So, from that point of view the joke was appropriate in response to armchair critics who saw support for charity as electioneering. Government automatically creates visibility for the senior government officials. A debate can help but is not necessary. It can help to gauge the sensitivity of the majority of Zambian callers to the Radio Talk Show. If the majority are too disturbed by the participation of the President, then in the long run, the President may in future send representatives.

  21. The WHOLE REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT doing a noble job for the underprivileged, these are some things that differentiates political heavy weights from Under Fives. I can rest assure you those poeple who gave and merely interacted with President Lungu physically and in pictures in such occasions will never forget or forsake him. He relates with every level of our society and when they vote for him, why do you cry and start running to international organisations ati “they stole my vote”? Unfortunately, Heck Heck, you cant copy these strategies, wachepa sana!!!!!

  23. Lungu kwena people have died, suffered and impoverished from what you are joking about. An apology will be great as you also tarnished Kaunda’s legacy. You also offered bad advice to people by telling them to abuse too when or if they become president, very bad distasteful advice coming from a grown up man no wonder the country is in bad shape because our docile voters always go for a person not good for them.

  24. Am better off with the devil I know one who claims to holier than thou. We quick to judge the man in state house, what if the country was being run to the ground by ourselves. Sometimes take the blame for your wrong votes.

  25. Why is Lungu always misquoted, or rather why does he say things which he does not mean? Is it because he is not a Zambian and that we don’t understand his jokes? It always takes Amos Chanda, a Zambian, to tell us what the president is implying in his uncalled for jokes. I have nothing against him as a person but his incivilities are nauseating.

  26. PF cadres are easily deceived; I listened to Lungu in a bus on Zambian eye; he was not joking; whether walking or in the bus where I listened to him; he is not the first president doing a noble cause;

    • Even KK was not amused. He advised us to be careful about what we say – a diplomatic way of saying someone is a loose canon.

  27. Let ECL have a light moment naimwe. life is too hard not to joke. If you think he is abusing power cite him. if you cant just do what you always do. sulk and be bitter

  28. ITS FUNNY HOW HATEFUL ALL YOU SO EDUCATED PEOPLE ARE. YET THIS VERY SO CALLED DAFTED MAN OUTSMARTED YOU. CUT AND CLEAN. NO CONTEST. THIS VERY DAFT MAN PUT MMEMBE OUT OF BUSINESS CUT AND DRY… WHERE SO MANY FAILED. THIS VERY DAFT MAN IS GIVING YOU ENOUGH ROPE TO HUNG YOURSELVES. I HAVE LEARNT SOMETHING FROM MCS… NEVER EVER UNDER ESTIMATE A LAWYER.
IF A MAN IS QUIET AFTER BEING INSULTED DON’T THINK HE IS DAFT. HE IS JUST LAYING THE GROUND WORK TO YOUR DOWNFALL. I LAUGH AND WATCH AND WAIT PATIENTLY FOR THE TIME FOR ALL Y’ALL EDUCATED CLAIMERS TO CRY WHEN HE DOES HIS FINAL “STOP CHILDREN”. HUH? YES YOU HEARD ME. LOL
