Former Minister of Foreign Affairs in the First Republic Mr Aaron Milner’s wife Phyllis Ursula- Milner has died.
Revealing the development to ZANIS, Family Spokesperson Kaweche Kaunda said the late Freedom fighters wife passed away over the weekend in Harare, Zimbabwe after a short illness.
Mr. Kaunda said in a telephone interview from Harare that Mr Milner who was on his deceased wife’s bedside will accompany the body from Harare to Lusaka by road in readiness for burial at Leopards Hill Memorial Park on Saturday.
A requiem mass for the Late Mrs. Milner will be held at Saint Ignatius Church in Rhodespark and will be followed by burial.
Mrs. Milner leaves behind a husband, children and several grand-children.
Can the government please facilitate repatriation of grandma’s remains by plane. It’s not too much to ask.

Why would we pay as taxpayers to bring a public servants wife from a foreign country and that public servant was employed nearly fifty years ago the family can pay. public servants are servants to the public and not the other way around.

Kaweche has always been a dependant of his father, when he wanted to do something in Malambo it was discovered that the lady who wanted to finance the housing project brought in a dubious$20.0M which she abandoned. She just disappeared and no one in the MMD under LPM ever explained the whereabouts of that whiff of money

Aaron Milner was born on May 31, 1932, son of a European businessman and an African mother, at Bulawayo, Southern Rhodesia. he also served as a Secretary-General appointed November 1970.
After acquiring business experience in Bulawayo he moved to Zambia’s Copperbelt in 1954 As chairman of the Euro-African Association he came into contact with Kaunda and Mainza Chona and joined unip In 1961 he was elected deputy national secretary and a member of UNIP’s Central Committee. From 1961 to 1964 he was the main party organiser in the Copperbelt and presided at meetings. Elected MP for Muchinga in 1964 he became Parliamentary Secretary to Prime Minister Kaunda and was given responsibility for the civil service.From 1964 to 1967 he was Minister of State for the Cabinet and Public Service. Aaron Milner also saved as Home Affairs Minister, he’s the one that advised KK to renounce his Malawian citizenship but his advice wasn’t taken. He fled to his native country Zimbabwe after the 1986 coup organized from his farm at Shimabala failed. Edward Shamwana and others were arrested. His farm is now being demarcated and given to locals.
