Mighty rout Blades to qualify for 2018 Barclays Cup

Mighty Mufulira Wanderers have qualified for the 2018 Barclays Cup after finishing top of the table in FAZ Division One Zone Two at the middle of the season.

Wanderers on Saturday thumped second placed Konkola Blades 3-1 in a Week 15 match at Shinde Stadium to open a five point lead at the top of Zone Two.

Coach Justin Chinama’s side took a 3-0 lead into the break thanks to goals from Ashed Mwale and Aubrey Chamulwanda before Kunda Kabila’s consolation for Blades.

Wanderers moves to 34 points while second placed Konkola remain on 29 points after 15 matches played.

Elsewhere in Zone Two, Indeni remained third on the table after a 1-1 draw at Roan United in Luanshya on Saturday.

Indeni have 29 points and Roan sits on 19 points.

Ndola United edged FQM Roads 2-1 in Ndola while ZNS Lwamfumu and Kashikishi Warriors drew goalless in the Luapula derby.
