Share

President Lungu
President Edgar Lungu has urged the church to take the national dialogue seriously and expedite the mediation process.

And President Lungu has also urged the opposition UPND to come out in the open to make known the matters that they want to be discussed during the dialogue process.

The Head of State says the process is long overdue and he wondered why the UPND have continued changing goal posts on who should preside over the process.

President Lungu was speaking in Chilanga’s Namalombe ward where he went to drum up support for the PF council chairperson candidate Annie Brown.

The President also called on the people in Chilanga to vote for Ms Brown to create a strong working bond with the area Member of Parliament Maria Langa.

Meanwhile the Head of State has directed the police to arrest anyone involved in political violence.

In the Chilanga Council Chairperson by election set for July 26th, the UPND is fielding George Muleya while the United Peaceful and Prosperous Zambia-UPPZ is fielding Christopher Mulenga.

The National Democratic Congress -NDC- is Not fielding anyone as its candidate Foster Chileshe failed to file in her nomination papers.

The Chilanga council Chairperson seat fell vacant following the death of Maria Malila.

And PF Secretary General Davis Mwila says the PF is set to scoop the Chilanga Council Chairperson by-election because people in the area have love for the party.

Mr. Mwila says the PF candidate Annie Beown will spur development in Chilanga because she has President Edgar Lungu’s blessings.

At the same oaccsion, Kabwata Member of Parliament Given Lubunda said Ms. Brown will replicate the development projects in his constituency in Chilanga district.

  1. Something has gone wrong in this country. The president shouldn’t be travelling all over drumming up support even for a council chairperson. And Davies Mwila should be explaining what the PF has done for the area and not give a reason of winning the elections as “people in the area have love for the party”.

    • “Something has gone wrong in this country” is an understatement. It is like the blind leading the dead

    • This is a pathetic and repugnant attempt at being a comedian by Edgar Lungu. Everyone with gray matter knows that Lungu is the one delaying dialogue

    • He is right to be honest.
The churches are jokes in Zambia and they shouldn’t be consulted to start with.

I am at work now, and Nick is working from Home

      This is life

      Thanks

    • PF is a campaign group and they are good at it.
Since football is finished as source of entertainment, political campaigns are the knew activities. But PF have to stop creating by-elections through death.

    • Robertokambolev – Lazy Lungu is not a leader…he has absolutely no leadership qualities whatsoever and advisers no this that’s why they hide him away from press conferences.

  2. Really laughable…this lazy man must be drunk again…its you to take it serious, dont start issuing subtle threats

  3. This guy has been in campaign mode since he wormed his way to power. Leaders must have ideas and vision. This guys has neither. It beats why so many Zambians are so blind and cannot see that he is a fraudster.

  4. When clergymen and women join politics, they are castigated and rebuked. Now politicians are running to the church for reconciliation.I thought you are the same people who say pastors should not join politics? Politics is of the world. Why are you running to Church for answers when clergymen are barred to participate in politics? This is hypocrisy of the worst kind in that you want the church to sweep your mess which you have created on your own.
I believe pastors should be involved in politics because they can bring values of morality in political arena. They should not only be there to sweep up political dirt.

  5. ECL is flat wrong and misguided. Zambia should be taking national development very very seriously in gear one and national dialogue should be an afterthought in gear six.

  6. Excuse Lazy Lungu he is not a leader, look at his history the man has never led before, other leaders see through him …its no wonder leaders like Xi Jinping have no time for him and have gone to RSA to see Ramaphosa…he has no vision only interested in brown envelopes and short-term gains!!

    • Lazy bum tribal insolent hooligan bully son of the polygamist tribal father hurling insults but he doesn’t know that it will NEVER be president.

    • What a bored twit you are. You s.t.u.pid job of disparaging Edgar Lungu while wiping white people’s bottoms seems to be getting boring. The Chinese leader is in RSA for a BRICS summit, is Zambia part of that grouping?? Lazy twit, find something else to do!!

  7. Pipo, dont forget that other than being republican president he is the head of a political party, so he is performing that role of a political party leader. He has done very well the two wèeks he has been if the ground campaigning. Am sure the effect is more than some political leaders who have being campaigning from day 1. May the best leader win…

  8. If I were you Mr. President, dialoguing with ha loser would not mean ha thing. There is more than that to Hatribes Utd.

  9. Yes Jay, this lazy bum is getting serious about dialogue after being denied IMF loan, and being scolded by the commonwealth. He thought everything was going to revolve around him, but no it doesn’t and the IMF and the world is going to put him in his place. It is true other leaders see through him, what are you going to get from a vision-less leader apart from losing money trying to bribe him.
