Government will this month resume the remaining works under the 650 health post project in areas were the construction has not been completed.

About 275 of the 650 health posts have been completed handed over to the Ministry of Health and were fully functional.

Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary for Administration Kennedy Malama says that government will ensure that within the period of 18 months all the 650 health post will be functional across the country.

“ Government is committed to improving infrastructure in the health sector by not only rehabilitating and building new health facilities but also upgrading some of the existing ones, “ he said.

Levy Mwanawasa Hospital, Matero, Chawama, Chipata and Chilenje level one hospitals are among the facilities which have been upgraded in Lusaka district.

He explained that government is working hard to improving the service delivery through promoting good health and the provision of quality health care to the people.

Dr Malama indicated that government has prioritized infrastructure development, equipment and transport provision in order to improve quality health services in the country.

  1. “Signing a contract with China is like, ascribing to the boiling frog effect; a fable describing a frog being boiled alive slowly. If you drop a frog suddenly into boiling water, it will jump out, but if you put that same frog in a vessel of water and start heating the water gradually, it will adjust its body temperature accordingly until it reaches a stage beyond its capacity and dies f o o l i s h l y.

    • Its amazing how you condemn borrowing when the whole developed world is now developed purely based on borrowing, some countries like Japan at one time were indebted up to 120% of their GDP, USA is perpertully over indebted and yet you aspire to develop like them. Debt does not equal to Underdevelopment.

  2. “The Zambian government contracted the Chinese, lazy-thought and glossed over details thinking they were granting consent to gernuine terms but the whole thing just morphed into modern day colonialism. China is now proposing to take over the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport should Zambia Government fail to pay back its huge foreign debt on time. The issue of whether Zambia posses the required economic muscle to repay that debt is in contention considering the amount involved. It’s typical of the Chinese strategy”

    • Gullible Zambian believing anything printed and broadcast by western fake media like Africa confidential. Do you actually know how much China owns in the west and you don’t call it colonialism. So if Europe or the US owns something in Zambia it will be investment and not colonialism. Please guys wake up from western propaganda. No one will own anything In Zed angles they bought it not by just lending money to Zed. By the way Zambia has always borrowed huge sums on money… we still remain Zambia in Africa no amount of debt will make any country on earth lose it’s sovereignty, do not be cheated. lose you colonial mentality.

  3. “Chinese own 60% shares of the Zambian National Broadcasting corporation which means, Chinese have an influence over what should or should not be premiered on their sets.”

  4. Walking into a position of subjugation with eyes wide open all because the guys at the top wanted a backhander! If this is not treasonous, then what is? Lungu and his lot must be held to account for this deplorable state of affairs.
