The Barclays Bank cup quarter final Young Buffaloes vs Zanaco

Green Buffaloes beat demoted Monze Swallows 1-0 away on Sunday to take the battle for the number two spot to the final day of the 2018 FAZ Super Division season.

Youremember Banda scored the game’s only goal in the 46th minute to see third placed Buffaloes move within two points of number two side Nkana with one match left to play.

Buffaloes have 71 points while Nkana have 73 points as the two sides engage in a two-horse race for the number two spot after fourth placed Green eagles dropped running out following a 2-1 away loss at Buildcon on Saturday in Ndola.

Eagles have 68 points.

Meanwhile, sixth placed Power Dynamos five-match unbeaten run in all competition came to an end on the same afternoon when they suffered a 2-1 home loss to Kabwe Warriors in Kitwe.

Patrick Kasunga converted a 24th minute penalty and Nelson Maziwisa added the second in the 32nd minute to give Warriors a 2-0 halftime lead.

Power’s lone goal came in the 75th minute through Martin Kayuwa in a second half that saw his 90th minute free kick come off the beam.

The hosts second half woes also saw Godfrey Ngwenya’s 49th minute goal ruled-out for offside and his 51st minute effort come off the woodwork as Power pressed for the point that never came.

Power stay put at number six on 59 points, two points ahead of seventh positioned Warriors.
