First Lady Esther Lungu has said that her rural outreach programmes are meant to give President Edgar Lungu honest feedback on how people in the remote parts of the country are living.

Mrs. Lungu said that President Lungu supports her work because he too wants to see development reach all corners of the country.

She says people in rural areas are looking up to their elected leaders to transform their lives.

Mrs. Lungu was speaking when she addressed hundreds of people in Chipete ward of Chembe district which she visited this morning on her continued tour of Luapula province.

She further called on civil society organisations to spread their activities to the remote parts of the country.

Mrs. Lungu said it is sad that in some places she has been to, there is no single NGO or civil society organisation.

She said civil society organisations should supplement government efforts in delivering social services to the people.

The first lady also interacted with pupils at Chipete primary school and donated food and groceries for the girls.

She also donated hygiene packs and bicycles to Chipete rural health center and gave out 5,000 Kwacha to each of the seven women cooperative groups.

    • Mr Lungu hates honest feedback. Otherwise Lucky Mulusa would not have been fired. Neither would KBF and Harry Kalaba be facing expulsion. As most people have already observed he loves bootlicker like Lusambo etc

    • If you watched this on TV she was extravagantly dressed with a neck piece and yet she was in one of the desperately poor places of Zambia …. When she started this mission in the early days of Chagwa reign she would be modestly and “humbly” dressed. It happens world over u cannot visit such poverty stricken places while flaunting your newly and dubiously acquired wealth

    • You mean she was dressed Emelda Marcos style in one of the ruralest places in the country, typical of those of those that acquired fast riches and not wealth.if it was a genuine wealthy person you would seen them in faded jean and putting on trainers or moccasins. What would it profit a man to put on Gucci yet his abode is as filth as a Lusaka city council uncollected garbage containers.

  1. Lungu only likes praise singers and “gluteus maxima” kissers.Once you correct him like we do he’ll say you’re an enemy of Zambia.

  2. How dare speak like that to a person who is your mother. What are you, because even a dog can speak like that.

Let’s have respect to our mother’s, women and elderly people.
