Copperbelt Province PF Chairman Stephen Kainga says intra-party elections should not divide the ruling party.
There was another new punch up in Chingola yesterday during the ward elections which some officials have charged that the registered has been manipulated.
Kainga said he has received the complaints of others being left out and barred from contesting.
Kainga said the complaints are at ward level and today the provincial leadership will sit with the Ward officials, Constituency and the Chingola District leadership to verify and iron out the complaints.
And the elections in Ndola Central Constituency have been suspended.
Officials in Ndola Central have accused suspended Zambia Postal Service Post master general McPherson Chanda of causing confusion.
Meanwhile, Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Davies Mwila say the party will not condone violence to characterize inter-party elections. Mr. Mwila has observed that the reported violence involving cadres from Chawama Constituency in Lusaka today is an affront to democracy and will not be condoned by the party.
Mr Mwila said that intra-party elections were never designed to weaken the in-built democracy but to strengthen it.
Mr. Mwila who was speaking during the official launch of intra-party election for Eastern province said that violence must not be associated with democracy and has called on the Police to bring all perpetrators of the violence to book. He has also directed PF members with information to cooperate with the Police.
This is contained in a statement issued to ZNBC News by PF Media Director Sunday Chanda.

I beg to differ, if not for the fringe benefits mostly from corrupt related activities, the PF could have been struggling to adopt leaders based on the current economical status of the country. The grass roots are struggling economically even with the most basic of needs, subjected to slavish taxes, being psyched to accept the responsibility of paying for the national debt burden etc. Violence is inevitable in PF at this point as potential contenders believe that without a position, you are as good as dead economically. However, i still understand your perspective of analysis because critical and objective thinking is a preserve of the few especially in Zambia.
No my brother it’s not popularity it’s hunger. This is a sign that people do no have any other meaningful things to do as most of the contracts have been taken by the Chinese. Those people your seeing fighting are not fighting for those positions to serve but for their pockets and stomachs in order for them to survive. This is what happens even when as a parent you cause poverty in a home, children will be fighting over the little food available. Going forward brother when you are making such kinds of analysis check your mental faculties to ensure their intact and don’t be moved by emotions but always apply logic.

This has nothing to do with ‘popularity’ in the normal sense. It has to do with the realisation that having a position in any part of the PF structures means ‘sangwapo’. It means an easy conduit to resources without any hindrance, process or regulation. Zambian resources are the carcass and PF thugs the vultures.
