Sven still sees light at the end of the tunnel

Share

Chipolopolo coach Sven Vandenbroeck says he would have quit if he didn’t believe they were still in the 2019 AFCON qualifying race.

Zambia’s Group K qualifying hopes suffered a massive setback on October 14 away in Bissau where they threw away a one-nil halftime lead to lose 2-1 to hosts Guinea Bissau.

The result left Zambia bottom of Group K and trailing three points behind leaders Guinea Bissau after four games played.

Mozambique and Namibia are also on 4 points but with a match in hand heading into their match-day four fixture in Windhoek on Tuesday night.

“We will have won our next two games then we will qualify. If I say we can’t them it is better I resign but we are going to have to win our next two games,” Vandenbroeck said.

Zambia must beat Mozambique away in their penultimate Group K match on November 16 and Namibia at home on March 22, 2019

  1. He doesn’t even know how to motivate the team. After the second goal the team was in disarray. They didn’t know what to do. And this man was just watching with his arms folded like a spectacular, with no motivation or pushing the boys. He’s not fit for this position. Lwandamina, Wada, and Chambeshi are far much better. This man can’t even coach Zesco United. He’s below par.

  2. Zambian players too much perfume!!
And how can you play without yellow cards, in all qualifier games no card.
It was fun to watch when those big Mandingo Guineas wanted to beat tuma Zambians, but they were so sneak running away. Twaku CB, utwachenjela, as if they were Bembas, but only 2 Bembas can you imagine.

  3. if u have done and passed probability in school u know that even zambia wins the next games maximum points will be 10, and guinea maximum points is 13 so where is this confidence coming from

  4. @ ANYOKO , Its 2 teams qualifying from each group. That is where HOPE is. But its very tight.Mozambique could as well finish off Zambia. REPLACE right and left full back with Donoshana Malama and Mbola.

  6. @ANYOKO Zambia winning the next two games means grabbing maximum points from Mozambique and Namibia thereby denying the said teams advantage of getting points beyond 10. If they lose in other games, Zambia gets advantage. If they win in other games, it goes to the wire! Guinea Bissau will also require atleast a win and a draw to remain in contention.

  7. @ANYOKO Remember also that Guinea Bissau has at one home and one away game. If they they lose or draw at home and lose away they are completely out. So its very tight as observed by @ life after death.

  8. mozambique plays namibia TODAY ,which is most likely NAMIBIA WINS TO BE AT 10 POINTS, GUINEA 7, MOZ 4 ZAMB 4 WITH THESE POINTS EACH TEAM HAS TWO MORE GAMES AWAY AND HOME, TO GRAB 6, 3,1 OR 0 POINTS in all games. NAMIBIA and guinea will definately top the grup leaving chipolopolo to the drawing board. Lets admit we have lost it again , better we concentrate on building a world cup qualifying team and AFCON 2021 to be hosted by MALAWI our neighbour. By then KALU’s ban shall be over hence the youngman be given chance to coach the team again, lets be patriotic gentlemen and ladies MARADONA Being icon for brazil is given much chance to assist in building the team infct now is being considered to COACH the team again, why cant we do it??

  9. Imwe forget about all these arguments and start supporting Shepolopolo ba Chipolopolo they are not going anywhere.Period.
