  1. Zambian women would find themselves in danger or being stripped completely naked on the streets if they wore some of these designs

    • What are they meant to show? What do the men in the village and on the football pitch show? Is he naked?

So you want to objectify women instead and its acceptable?

  2. Zambia fashion week is just a feel good show. Its neither a career for designers or a sustainable industry in a country where most Zambians can only afford salaula clothing.

    • Iwe ka Patrick, before your colonial masters came to put a gun on your head and make you dress victorian what did your grandfather wear? A tuxedo or strips of animal skin to just cover his balls? What do Arabs, Scots and many indigenous men wear kunshi? Are you being distracted by Men in skirts and showing you their legs? if you are then you are the dirty minded perv. Why does everything have to be about sex and not appreciating the creativity or advising on what can be done better? Your mindset is what is sad! Work on it.

  3. As usual Zambian,s trying to shot down an event, who says stuff used on catwalks are to be worn on the streets.Advanced countries treasure creativity and artistic thinking all clothing is designed abroad whilst we have a country of 95% Pharisees and hypocrites that would rather sell raw cotton and import a shirts.
Beer drinking and sexual activities in mushrooming lodges is the major issue thay needs attention.

    • Exactly Bozo! 100% spot on. Ba Kamushi! Only know what the colonial masters taught them in 1935. Meanwhile fashion is worth billions. This could add to the diversification of the economy if done well. Support your local creatives and help them improve so that they can compete on the international stage not shooting them down.

  4. This looks good. Well done to everyone that took part. Please be encouraged to perfect your craft guys and focus on going global. Find your clients and build on that with great marketing with all these free media tools at your disposal. Use FB and Insta to promote your stuff and not gossip about who is shagging who! Keep it up and do better with the stage next time so it’s worth international media coverage. Mwa bombeni.

Boys – Model and don’t pay attention to anyone calling you gay. Models make millions in the West, why cant you make the little you can just for wearing a wrap?? if it can pay your bills while no one gives you a corporate job do what you must and enjoy to earn money. Charge them for your time even if its k100

  6. Well done to all designers that took part in our 8th Zambian Fashion week. wish I could have been there as some of the pictures do not do justice to the clothes.

Anyways it is high time us Zambians support some of these designers and wear their clothes occasionally that help give ZED a clear identity rather than buying a quick fix problem and buying from high street shops so we all look like appendices from South Africa!

Maybe Fridays should be dress Zambian day !

  7. Some outfits for men, awe nakana. Men in lingeries? Ungavale kuti kansi? Coming to the women; if it’s the skinny type, I scroll down fast but if it’s the big beauty queens, I have to stop and admire the physique.. more of these natural beauties in African modelling please.
