Government says it will take disciplinary measures on officers involved in the ongoing investigations regarding the leaked 2018 examination papers in order to stop the vice.

Minister of General Education David Mabumba said investigations into the tempering of the 2018 examinations will be concluded within the month of November and that appropriate measures will be taken on the erring officers.

Mr. Mabumba said this in parliament today when he gave a Ministerial statement on the lifting of the 2018 examination suspension.

He explained that leaking of examinations is unfortunate because it encourages laziness in pupils at the tertiary level of education.

Mr. Mabumba disclosed that his office is working with the Ministry of Home Affairs in order to strengthen security in the administration of the 2018 examinations.

He emphasized that a stern warning will be sent to all erring officers that tempered with the exams, for betraying the hard work of the 5 million children in the school system.

On Monday October 29th, 2018, Minister of General Education David Mabumba announced the lifting of the suspension on the 2018 examinations for grades 7, 9 and 12.

The exams were suspended following the leaking of examination papers in some provinces.

  1. Dissolve the Board first. They failed to mordernize the administration of exams system. They misguided the ECZ Director and had no vision at all to implement a system that was leak free The CEO’s job is to follow the Board”s vision which is not there. Cut the crap from the source.

    • Petty.
Very childish case. Going around searching leaked papers in pupils skirts. Leave children alone. It’s not like useless Law Exams.
      I like such cases like:
      – K5 million legal fees scam
      – $42 millions for fire trucks scam
      – MP petitions scam
      – social cash scam

  2. Its not the teachers. Its those that failed to put in place a system that does not allow teachers to do that. Where poverty exists, loopholes must be sealed for people not to be tempted.

  3. Just tooooo much. Just stop that petty case. This is like getting an erection on under-age pupils.
The mature corruption and elections petitions are walking freely.
Mabumba never yapped about missing money in his Ministry. Go take stern action in your cabinet.

  4. That year when Dr BRIAN CHITUWO was Minister of Education, there were no leakages. In fact it was felt that there will never be leakages hence forth. What has happened?Consult Dr Chituwo on how him and his team did it. Dr Chituwo is still around. Leakages is a cancer. I understand over 90?reasons why UK oriented courses are diminishing in Zambia is all about integrity – no leakages. Zambians are slowly falling in love with leakages so much that a course without leakages is demonised or will end up producing low pass rates like ZICA, ZIALE, IMIS(BSC), ACCA, etc.
