CEEC happy with construction of Ndola Industrial Yard

The Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) has expressed happiness with progress made on the construction of the 25 million Kwacha Industrial Yard in Ndola district, on the Copperbelt Province.

Speaking to ZANIS after a conducted tour of the facility, CEEC Managing Director Likando Mukumbuta said it is impressive to see that the contractor has remained committed to duty, to ensure that works are completed on time.

Mr.Mukumbuta noted that with this kind of process, he is optimistic that the works will be concluded within the stipulated period.

He further stated that government remains keen to industrialise the economy, hence resuscitating industrial areas, which are the key foundation for growth.

Mr. Mukumbuta added that industrial yards will create job opportunities as well as skills transfer to the Zambian people, as well as expose them to new technology.

And Mango Tree Construction Limited Engineer Yandn Ding, the company engaged to work on the Industrial Yard, has revealed that works are going on well and will finish within the stipulated time frame.

The Ndola Industrial Yard which is sitting on a 20 hectare land capacity, will have 24 industrial workshops and is expected to create about 400 casual jobs, and about 1000 permanent jobs after the launch of the project.
