The Zambia Forestry and Forest Industry Corporation (ZAFFICO) has refuted allegations that the company has been sold to a foreign company.

ZAFFICO Board Chairperson Trevor Kaunda said the company has not been sold to any foreign company, but remains fully owned by the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC).

Mr. Kaunda has assured the general public that there has been no such transactions of transfer that has taken place between ZAFFICO and a foreign company.

He noted that the top management has since decided to visit ZAFFICO offices in the province, to interact and reassure workers and stakeholders that the company has not been sold to anyone.

ZANIS Reports that the Chairperson said this today in Ndola when ZAFFICO management and Industrial Development Corporation management paid a courtesy call on Copperbelt Minister Japhen Mwakalombe.

And Copperbelt Minister Japhen Mwakalombe says the province is happy that the team has decided to come and clear the allegations surrounding the matter.

Mr. Mwakalombe further said government is saddened that people resort to rioting over matters, before getting clarification from the relevant authorities.

The Minister has also appealed to everyone who is in a habit of spreading falsehood, to always remain factual before causing panic in the nation.

Mr. Mwakalombe has also called on the media to verify facts before reporting, adding that people take what comes from the media as the gospel truth.

Yesterday some members of public took to the streets of Kitwe, to riot over allegations that ZAFFICO has been sold to foreign investors.

  1. Colonel zulu and sakala were dismissed for opposing gbm at ministry

Gbm had 21 companies in different supplying to Ministry of defence

One day he walked in accountants office and said

    And I quote

    pay fast Tendalama shanoko ch***la

This story was covered by upendi media

A vote for hh is vote for gbm in state house

Am a non partisan political consultant

    • So why not him?
He is Zambian, well spoken, once Defence Minister, hardworking, sponsored Sata and the same party ruling 2day when all of you scorned the party.
Don’t tell me you just dropped from somewhere without knowing these facts!

  2. But why do you always wait for riots and anger to force you to explain things? What was wrong with you chaps explaining to people the listing of ZAFFICO on the stock exchange.
The biggest tragedy of PF is lack of transparency and arrogance, that is what will send them to an early grave. Just listen to that boy Amos Chanda claim that President Lungu runs a transparent government and one can seek a clarification. You on ganja Amos? Can any of those rioters approach the President? And you nean after they have rioted and not before? Is that your concept of transparency young boy? If it is then you are encouraging riots and you should be caged, or better still fired like Hon Mutati.

  3. Imwe ba wishi talalenifye. Africa confidential will soon reveal the deal then government spokesperson will say “its not exactly a takeover. We are leasing it for 50 years and we will be 60 to 40 partners and they are just shareholders”
All this nonsense will be reported in The Times of Zambia in Chinese
