Wina lauds “End Hunger” global conference

Vice President Inonge Wina has described the Accelerating the End of Hunger and Malnutrition, a global event conference as successful.

The Vice President says the conference provided a platform to exchange ideas and come up with solutions for accelerating the fight against hunger, malnutrition, stunting and poverty.

Mrs. Wina, who was in Bangkok, Thailand to attend the high level conference organised by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFAO) and the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) which ran from 28th to 30th November, 2018 has since left for Zambia.

ZANIS reports that the Vice President was seen off at Suvarmabhumi international airport at 09:45 hours local time by Zambia’s High Commissioner designate to Thailand, Walubita Imakando and other senior government officials.

While in Thailand Mrs. Wina gave a keynote address during the inaugural session on the 28th of November, 2018.

She also paid a courtesy call on Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan and held several meetings with different stakeholders who included the United Nations Assistant Secretary General, Coordinator of the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement Gerda Verburg, FAO Assistant Director- General, Economic and Social Development Kostas Stamoulis and IFPRI Director General Shenggen Fan.

  1. Very laughable, they’re busy buying luxury private jets when so many people are starving and overspending on infrastructure with zero plan to eradicate hunger
