President Edgar Lungu has warned all those fond of breaking the law in the name of national dialogue. President Lungu said he will not tolerate anarchy in the country, and has warned Zambians who are in the habit of stirring anarchy in the country, adding that they risk being arrested.

The Head of State said he has never undermined democracy in the country, adding that the rule of law must be upheld by all citizens, or face the consequences of the law.

The President however said that he is ready and available to participate in the national dialogue process, as long as it will not interfere with his mandate of taking development to the people.

President Lungu said this when he opened the Patriotic Front Copperbelt Provincial elective Conference in Kitwe, that is expected to usher in a new executive to mobilise the party, ahead of the 2021 general elections.

The President said the PF remains committed to the national dialogue process and as such he will continue to engage all political parties.

He said Zambia must move away from politics of personalities and concentrate on pursuing issue based politics .

President Lungu who is also PF Party President said there is need for the ruling party to revisit the values upon which the PF was formed.

Mr Lungu urged the conference to embrace the values and ideals of its founding party leader and late President Michael Sata such as love, honesty, sacrifice, hard work and inclusiveness.

He said the PF will always remain a pro poor party that seeks to improve the welfare of all Zambians.

Mr Lungu reiterated that the PF is not for sale and urged delegates to elect people who will serve the interests of the party.

President Lungu added that the PF has demonstrated that it is the most democratic party in the country as it always seeks a fresh mandate from its membership.

He urged other political parties to emulate the PF and hold elections to choose leaders as it is now a constitutional requirement for all political parties in the country to hold primaries.

President Lungu also urged the PF members to continue showing leadership on the political landscape and ensure that they continue to consolidate democracy and development in the country.

And PF Copperbelt outgoing Provincial Chairman Stephen Kainga has disclosed that the party has established grassroots structures in the province.

And President Edgar Lungu has arrived back to Lusaka from the Copperbelt Province, where he had gone to grace the Patriotic Front (PF) Copperbelt Provincial Elective Conference.

President Lungu also commissioned the Edgar Chagwa Lungu Business Park in Kitwe. President Lungu arrived in Lusaka at City Airport at about 18:10 hours local time aboard a Zambia Airforce airplane yesterday.

The President was received at the airport by Vice President Inonge Wina, Minister of Works and Supply Mutotwe Kafwaya, Lusaka Province Mayor Miles Sampa, Service Chiefs and other senior government and Party officials.

The Head of State arrived in the company of Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Development Ronald Chitotela, Road Development Board Chairperson Samuel Mukupa and his Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda.

President Lungu who is also Patriotic Front President was in Kitwe on the Copperbelt for the provincial intra-party elections where the party is conducting elections to choose new PF party office bearers.

The Patriotic Front has started conducting provincial intra-party elections to choose leaders at provincial levels who will take over from the current leadership in all the ten provinces of Zambia.

  1. Hahaha, thats funny coming from Edgar Lungu who always goes to nationwide campaign trips in the name of “two day working visits”

    • Why arrest him, and not the church leaders?
There was nothing wrong for HH to attend dialogue meeting. Why arrest for saying that he never privitized anything?

    • PALIBE LEADERSHIP ZERO, THREATS IN MORNING, AT LUNCH AND THE EVENING. THE SOONER YOU REALIZE THAT ZAMBIA IS NOT YOUR HOUSE THE BETTER. DEMOCRACY WHICH YOU CLIAM BROUGHT YOU INTO POWER REQUIRES RESPECT, TOLERANCE AND COEXISTENCE TO THRIVE.

    • Edgar is not Presidential material. A leader will not threaten citizens with arrests for doing the right thing. This country needs dialogue and what a blessing the Church have decided to preside over this. We are a Christian country after all.

Lungu knows now that HH s call for inquiry is ever drawing nearer because HH wants this matter settled once and all. Its been broken record political gimmick over used by PF.
Now Lungu is afraid to set up an inquiry that might implicate him. HH knew how involved Lungu was kept quiet all along. But PF poked him constantly.
Suppose HH valued cold storage at $3million and the Lungu the sale negotiator agreed to sale it at $1million. Who sold the cold storage for a song ? Clearly you can see that the sale negotiator is actually the one with the final say as to the sale of an asset than the valuer who merely gives the professional advice based on the total assets and goodwill less liabilities.
Therefore Lungu actually sold cold storage while HH just valued it.
      Value of company =…

How come lungu is comming out saying because he has been implicated ,
but he was implicted in stealing after 18 months in office after he decleared personal $2.3 million, did he say anything ??
He was implicated in 42/42 , reciving $5 million kickback, did he say anything ??
he was implicated in inyatsi land , did he say anything ??
He has been constantly implicated in corruption, has he said anything ??
For some reason lungu thinks the privertisation saga is more important than all else he has been accused of….we know why….

    • This one you have got is a con president. I doubt if he will even commit himself to this so called dialogue. His way of survival in elections is based on violence and other crooked ways such as stealing votes henceforth genuine dialogue is an alien to him!

    • What did Lungu mean? No one is abrogating the law in the name of dialogue maybe he is just guilty hence sending hot air threats to the non-existent because he cannot point at one breaking the law as he alleges. If anything he is number one law breaker because of promoting corruption.

    • “President however said that he is ready and available to participate in the national dialogue process, as long as it will not interfere with his mandate of taking development to the people.”

But why is he constantly giving conditions…….and his conditions are changing for that matter?
Is he being honest and serious? I doubt.
If dialogue doesn’t need to be personal, why then did he meet HH privately? His actions and what he says simply doesn’t add up.

    • Ewe mzambia you seen to be an under 5 supporter. Who says the President is restricted to campaign. President is President, he has a duty to explain government programs to the people everyday. Look at Trump, how many rallies has he held in his 2 years? Have heard any rubbish from Hilary that she is also entitled to rallies. Grow up, that’s why your under 5 will keep losing

    • That dictatorial rhetoric coming from corrupt Lungu is uncalled for. What does he not understand about Zambia being a democratic nation, where people are free to speak their minds? Who is he threatening, this tin- pot dictator wanna be ? Zambia is not North Korea. Zambia is a democratic country. Zambians have the right to freedom of expression and freedom of speech. So stop threatening us like little children. Zambia is not your personal- to- holder company. Zambia is owned by all Zambians and we have a right to talk about whatever we want to talk about—including issues affecting our nation.

  2. A president lungu is free 2 move and talk 2 pipo through hold meetings. In USA president trump do go around hold meets and no democratics cry that is campaignin bcoz the president can only talk 2 pipo through addressing them not door to door. In zambia, now time 2 work and campaigns wil start in 2021

SUCH A DULL GUYS WHO CAN NOT CHANGE THEIR THINKING EVEN WHEN THERE IS TRUTH, THEY WILL STICK TO THE WRONG SIDE. IF ECL DOES NOT SUPPORT THE DIALOGUE, HOW CAN HE GO FOR THE ENQUIRY WHICH WILL CATCH ON HIM WHEN HE HAS ALREADY BEEN EXPOSED BY THE INFORMATION WHICH WAS HIDING HIM? IF HE CAN NOT MAKE ANY INQUIRY ON THE IMPORTANT ISSUE OF ECZ ( ELECTRAL COMMISSION OF ZAMBIA) THE SO CALLED BIAS AND STOLEN VOTES, DO YOU THINK HE CAN DO THE RIGHT THING?

  4. Edgar Chagwa Lungu must be talking of the one and only pair of Hakainde and GBM. Did Lungu forget how he abused the law changing a mere traffic incident into a treason charge?

  5. On the surface, it may look like United Party for National Development (UPND) Leader Hakainde Hichilema casually welcomed the proposed inquiry into the privatisation of National companies of the 1990’s.

However, beneath the surface, things are not as simple as they seem; there are some major undercurrents.

Is it a coincidence that UPND Vice President Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) rapidly welcomed the idea of a Probe and by doing so went against the longstanding tactic of his boss who has kept his head buried in the sand for more than a decade?

The matter of his involvement in privatization and how he made his wealth including the millions of dollars kept in tax havens in offshore accounts has been a topic HH has always shied away from and he has been very aggressive like a caged…

  6. “The President said Zambia must move away from politics of personalities and concentrate on pursuing issue based politics” .

PF ministers and officials, you have heard for yourself, please stop praise songs, let’s have full sentences without “Lungu this Lungu that”, “the able leadership of HE President Lungu this and that”. He is certainly THE President of Zambia whether trib.als like it or not, but he is certainly not the most intelligent person in Zambia. And don’t turn him into a God, there is only ONE, according to the Christian bible.

  7. And this business and archaic and unproductive habit of welcoming the President at the airport. Surely the Vice President has to stop whatever she was doing to go and line up at the airport and welcome the President who left for Kitwe barely twenty four hours before? Is it a constitutional requirement? Can’t the President be welcomed by State House officials?
Can the President please personally look into these costly and unproductive archaic practices please?

    • UPND cadre…please understand that Lungu doesn’t see anything wrong with that. He enjoys it, and has no clue that this unproductive time wasting practice can easily be stopped by him. Yes it’s a sheer waste of time and resources for all these officials going to the airport to welcome him. But he doesn’t care about that. It’ll take a different president, with proper understanding and exposure, to stop this. The time these officials waste at the airport can be used to do other productive things, and thus move the country forward. But they would rather abandon everything they are doing and rush to the airport to welcome Lungu. Sometimes they even invite ifinyau to dance for him. Not even developed countries do this. But it’s in Africa, and presidents think this is what makes them…

  8. The ones that follow and listen to your rumblings are the ones I feel sorry for
Because they keep following you whilst deep down their hearts they know that you have added zero value to this nation ever since you dubiously took office

  9. That is what we see in every democratic party there is intra-party election. Every political party should take an example from the ruling party PF. Upnd should do the same not allowing the thief HH to be wamuyayaya

    • PF always suprises me,it is like watching Amos talking about inquiries on privatisation. How can you even be using words like thief seriously. You are merely reminding us about yourselves, even the looting during privatisation cant be compared to today

  10. As chaotic as the PF’s elective conferences are, the PF is fulfilling a constitutional requirement which they intend to use against the Opposition. HH and UPND should immediately starting building structures across the country and hold the elective conferences otherwise they will definitely be barred from contesting the 2021 elections, mark my words PF is geared to bar opposition parties that wont hold intra-party elections. For the UPND and other opposition parties, holding the elective conferences will help you mobilise the masses. The other important issue for the opposition is to work on their manifestos, when one reads they news diggers manifestos its clear that the PF manifesto is more comprehensive. HH & UPND please work up in 2019!

  11. Love, honesty, sacrifice! Do they mean anything to our president at all? All these fake promises are now falling on deaf ears!

  12. How can you say you have never undermined democracy, the Police are stopping opposition leaders from having meetings using the abuse Public order act and as a leader you are just there watching and today you should say you have never undermined democracy, What type of thinking is that. Ministers after staying in office illegally were asked to pay back the money by the courts, you should have by now have encouraged ministers to pay back, but the same you who misled them is the one encouraging lawless

  13. I love and respect this hard working president.

Indeed, they are people who go on radio insult and when arrected or they say how can wil participate in dialogue when we being arrended.

ECL you have my vote for 2021

  14. The tribal tag tactic is in a he past Ba PF. You’ve lost the mandate. Pity on those who follow you this man. He talks trash.

  15. Lungu Chakolwa has become so big headed that now he feels Zambia belongs to him, lungu you are not the first one to rule Zambia and neither the last one.Zambia is a democratic state that is ruled on democratic principles. This fire you are starting will burn you too and moreover, whoever is advising you is very wrong.sata use to go in all radio stations to campaign and said a lot of things about RB but RB was not that stupid as lungu has turned to be.look at how sata frequented radio icengelo in kitwe, that radio under this regime would have been closed today. Lungu behaves like a Cadre and does not fit to be a president,he has no diplomacy in his language and he totally lacks leadership qualities. We Zambians feel cursed to have such a rubbish being represent our lovely country as…

  16. he threatened the concourt judges and they danced to his tune and misinterpreted the law with impunity and now he goes for the church mother bodies and hh who in real sense is not the one who called this meeting. now you can see that its true there is no vision in this leadership. next time vote wisely. enough is enough.
