The UPND says it will not allow the Patriotic Front to intimidate its youthful candidate for the Sesheke by election Romeo Kangombe to campaign peacefully and freely ahead of the bye-election slated for 12th February 2019.

Party National Youth Chairperson Likando Mufalali said the PF in its panic and desperate mode has sent people in Sesheke to find trumped up cases for Kangombe so that he does not campaign and subsequently disqualify him from contesting in this bye-election.

Mr. Mufalali said the people of Sesheke are aware of the tricks of PF and have vowed not to vote for it’s nominated candidate.

And Mr. Mufalali said the UPND will teach PF a lesson such that people will testify in Sesheke that UPND is a party of choice to change their lives for better.

He said it is disheartening to note that Patriotic Front has also taken advantage of high poverty levels in Sesheke Constituency by distributing money and food stuffs.

“And we are suspicious that PF has privately printed a new currency to buy votes from the Indunas and Headmen as was the case in Mangango recently. This is not only against the electoral code of conduct but also criminal act which has a negative effect on the economy. People are suffering in Sesheke; there is hunger and roads are very bad for any economic activity”, Mr. Mufalali said.

He said it is unfortunate that PF has continued to neglect the rural community by denying them access to basic needs but at all cost drifting attention of the Zambian people from real issues and focus on unwarranted attacks on UPND and it’s leadership

“Why must they continue to intimidate our candidate Romeo Kangombe a people’s choice to carry on the work of service from the late honourable Frank Kufakwandi? We want to warn our colleagues in PF that we shall not hesitate to expose all their ways against the electoral code of conduct in Sesheke. As UPND we would like also to state clearly that will continue to mobilise our people and campaign peacefully for our youthful candidate”, He added.

Mr. Mufalali said most importantly, the UPND will not be intimidated by the desperate acts of PF because they are alive to the fact that victory is theirs and has urged party members to unite for the better Zambia and have a prosperous 2019.

But PF Deputy Media Director Antonio Mwanza has challenged Mr. Mufalali to present evidence to the Police and the Electoral Commission of Zambia that the Party has printed money which it is using to buy votes in Sesheke.

Mr. Mwanza said the allegations being raised by Mr. Mulalali are of serious nature and must be proven.

And Mr. Mwanza said the UPND is crying over vote buying in sesheke because they know that they are long and are preparing their followers psychologically for the defeat.

  1. Chi sesheke election icha mafi. No one is even interested bcoz Zambia knows how f00l1sh the Lozi’s are in terms of voting. Nangu tuluse twalishiba Kale amafi yaku western province.

    • Yaba, there are still bye elections. We all know upnd is broke, it’s a finished 10 time losing party so we all know that they will just be making noises. We know it’s obvious pf will win. Next bye election will be half southern province & pf will win

    • Stop insulting my people. They are some of the most hard working Zambians. Like Easterners, those of the copperbelt and central. Lozis are very enterprising.

    • Number 1.
If the UPND was working in Sesheke and you want another MP to continue the work there, why then are you claiming Sesheke is a neglected village with no roads???
So what was UPND doing there when you have represented the area since 2006??
Clearly UPND has failed to develop Sesheke!!!!

      Number 2.
The UPND candidate has been known to be a timber smuggler who later own was implicated in ritualistic child trafficking. This is common knowledge throughout Sesheke. No one wants to stand on UPND ticket is Sesheke except that criminal and then crying that PF wants to arrest the criminal

  2. Even the first day of 2019.. some people Have not yet resolved to start using their brains… it was put in your head for using not decoration..busy renting it out as a workshop coz of its idleness.. learn to be free thinkers.. and move from being cadres to supporters…

  3. Firstlt PF cannot be in Panic mode, because Shesheke was a UPND seat, The PF has taken the last two seats that belonged from the UPND in HH strongholds. The youth leader for the opposition party above is speaking and committing borderline criminality by accusing others with no tangible evidence. Zambians do not want a weak opposition, they want one that can counter the PF( not all that the PF does is good ), reason a strong opposition will provide real checks and balances.

  4. When upnd complains before an election, they sense defeat. Is PF about to scoop a seat in WP??? Just look at the childish excuses???

  6. When will UPND change the way of doing politics? This party really irritates.Instead of explaining to voters what UPND would do if voted into office, all one hears from dull UPND leaders are complaints!!Year in,year out, same complaints-shocking!!!Why cant UPND simply stop taking part in elections?AM PRETTY SURE THAT UPND IS FEELING THE HEAT IN SESHEKE,HENCE MAKING THESE USELESS COMPLAINTS!!!Look Mufalali,PF has high chances of winning in Sesheke because if senior PF officials camp at each village in there,a victory will surely be for the ruling party like what happened in Chilanga,Mangango and several wards in bantustan areas!!!A RULING PARTY HAS RESOURCES,SO IT IS EASY FOR IT TO WIN DURING BY ELECTIONS BADALA!!!
Plus PF has nothing to lose in Sesheke since that is a UPND stronghold…

    • Facts on the ground is people from Sesheke are not impressed with upmd. They feel working with an mp from ruling party can change their fortunes. Kaya!!!

  7. PF cadres stop acting like your demise is not approaching soon. Now you are resorting to scare tactics to stop your opponents, using the instrument of power and soon you are going to waste an insurmountable amount of cash to bribe voters while many civil servants go unpaid. You also must be ashamed of yourselves stating the new year by raising taxes. Being in power is not just about winning elections but caring for the poor

    • PF has beaten the UPND in the last two by elections, and won two former UPND seats. Stay quiet and get a new UPND president.

  8. Above comments don’t sound to unifing the country.likando mufalali you need to be replaced by obvious mwalitata you are too docile to fight criminals.

  9. But PF supports sometimes I wonder if you have brains in those bug heads. Before someone was not adopted police never summoned him for anything now after he rejected PF police starts following like I don’t know so to you PFools its normal kaaa… Just wait what you’re praising its normal to you today it will be like a devil ???? act to you tomorrow.

  10. Romeo is a tribal criminal cadre. We know how he has been involved in timber smuggling aiding Chinese to illegally export timber. He used to also smuggle tilapia fish through Katima by bribing border officials. He is not fit for the position. UPND mwaitaya iyi yeve!!!
