Central Province Minister, Sydney Mushanga, says the introduction of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in schools is a good initiative towards the development of the country.
Mr Mushanga said all schools in the country should work towards making an effort to find donors for equipment like computers in order to make their pupils get accustomed to using computers practically instead of just learning theoretically.
He said this at the official opening of the first grade 8 class room, computer lab and library at Sables Nua Community School in Kabwe, Central Province yesterday.
Meanwhile, President of ZAMDA, Padraig O’Fainin, has expressed delight over the realisation of his vision of giving vulnerable children top quality education.
Mr O’Fainin said ZAMDA supplied the school with 22 computers which cost a total of K90, 000 and will continue to supply the institution with more equipment and funding needed at the school.
He appealed to the Zambian Government to deploy more teachers to the school to teach the newly introduced grade 8 class computer lessons and other subjects befitting a secondary school.
Construction of the one by two classroom block was facilitated by an Irish Organisation called Zambia Direct Aid (ZAMDA) which has been donating to the school for a long time.
The community school caters for all the pupils in terms of clothing, feeding and accommodation for some of them as they are all vulnerable and cannot afford to fend for themselves.
Schools to find donors?
Bwana, what is your job as government?
Where is the tax that we pay if we have to start begging from other countries?
Trump was right; #”sh*rt hole govt”
Mr Mushanga, put some of that donor money into schools instead of building mansions and lodges for yourself.
chishimba kambwili wanted to donate and your government through bowman lusambo refused him
nonsensical. gov introduced the new curriculum. its their responsibility to provide the equipment.
Irresponsible and wasteful use of resources means that poor, vulnerable children in our country will always remain disadvantaged. Well done to all at Sables Nua for wonderful work on behalf of the children at risk.
What a joke, you build schools but think that another should fund them???? Really what Mushanga are you smoking. Is begging the only thing you know, let government provide computers for all schools and otherwise come up with genius ways to raise funds not ukulomba, where do you think donors get their money from? And this is the caliber of so called leaders, atase
Next he will be telling teachers to look for donors to pay their salaries. This is the mentality of this government.
Complete douche bag! It’s the government’s role and job to do that!
