President Edgar Lungu is on Saturday expected in Madagascar to attend the inauguration ceremony of that country’s President elect Andry Rajoelina.
Zambia’s ambassador to South Africa Emmanuel Mwamba said that President Lungu will attend the inauguration in his capacity as the SADC chairperson on defence, peace and security.
Mr. Mwamba said that Zambia played an important role that contributed to the peaceful election in Madagascar.
The inauguration ceremony of Andry Rajoelina follows the Madagascar’s Constitutional Court confirmation that the president-elect as the winner of the country’s presidential election after his opponent had lodged a complaint alleging that the result was riddled with fraud.
“Andry Rajoelina is declared the elected president of the republic,” Judge Jean-Eric Rakotoarisoa declared, triggering celebrations among supporters gathered in the capital Antananarivo.
In the run-off vote on December 19, Rajoelina took 55% and Marc Ravalomanana won 44%, according to the final results.
Ravalomanana had complained of massive fraud and petitioned the Constitutional Court.
The two rivals, who are both former presidents, were banned from running in the 2013 election as part of an agreement to end recurring crises that have rocked Madagascar since it gained independence from France in 1960.
The 2018 two-round election was beset by allegations of fraud from both sides and a contested result may raise the risk of renewed political instability.
European and African Union election observers said they had not seen any evidence of malpractice.

Attending inauguration ceremony has been given priority after willingingly endorsing PF violence by shunning a very important dialogue. President Kenyata should be appointed special envoy to school Lungu about the importance of reconciliation. Christians for Lungu and the compromised ZCID behaves same as their pay master. We said it that Nakachinda’s talking was a plot by the PF to advance their crookedness. Thank God Lungu has shown his true colours as fakes being a christian.

Completely unnecessary sojourn to Madagascar – just for a ceremony! Unbelievable, considering also that he just got back this morning after being AWOL for 10 days! How ridiculous!! There is no obligation whatsoever for him to attend this – with the lame ‘justification’ of being chair of the toothless SADC defence, peace and security portfolio. ‘Justification’ is the new dispensation in the PF govt. perspective of matters. The same vibe was being stretched for his wife’s shopping entourage to the USA.

Edgar Lungu is like a foreign president accredited to Zambia just like those foreign ambassadors accredited to Zambia but their base is in Harare or Luanda.
The only time you see lungu pretending to work is when he and his gang wear gum boots and pretends to clean, knowing the opportunity will arise again as no cleaning systems are in place…..we told you , that there is no functioning Lusaka city clean up is a deliberate ploy by lungu.
After his tenure abroad He needs the opportunity of a photo showing his is working by cleaning the pile up of garbage…..

The president should be impeached,there are enough grounds for this,he has habitually breached the constitution e.g failing to hand over instruments of power after presentation of election petition,keeping ministers in office after dissolution of parliament etc and it is in PF’s interest that he be impeached,they should join the opposition otherwise they will sink together with him…
