Zambia on the list of countries to be allowed to enter the EU

Zambia, Mozambique, Angola, Namibia, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Uganda, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco are some of African countries set to be allowed to enter the EU territory as the borders reopen in July.

This is according to a draft list of the countries obtained and reported by euronews.

As the European Union gets ready to reopen its borders, officials in Brussels are debating behind closed doors, the draft of two lists; one with those countries that will be accepted, and one for those which will not, as the territory struggle to meet their previously announced July 1st goal.

The euronews sources also reported that officials “could not reach an agreement”, that talks would continue and that the deadline to open the borders may very well be extended beyond July 1st, suggesting agreements will not be forthcoming in time.

Notably, Brazil, Qatar, the US and Russia were not on the approved list while UK nationals still have the same rights as EU citizens, as the end of Brexit transition is not until the end of the year.

    • Yah? ba Editor? Sure ka? We have overtaken Turkey who have been applying to join the EU for the past 30 years? Tuli bakali. So now we will be using Euros? When are we leaving this useless AU which never acts even when Presidents are oppressing Tukuta, Pilato and other citizens who need freedom of speech? At last we are liberated from Africa’s poverty and confusion over election results. You will supervise our elections next year EU ka?
Very nice headline “Zambia on the list of countries to be allowed to enter the EU”

  1. Clear evidence of the good fight we have put against the virus. We thank the British for this gesture and acknowledgement of our good work. However for us we still expect any British coming here to self quarantine for 2 weeks or even better to not travel here . This is because the UK is a very high risk areaa and their response to covid has been appallingly terrible and mediocre. Over 40k people dead. How sad. Kz

  2. Come EU, even the corrupt? Look here, EU, corruption of some Africans is just as bad as if not much worse than COVID-19

  3. @Kaizer Zulu, let me school you on this one thing, before your continue playing Russian Roulette with your political career. As someone who has close connections to the presidency, your attacks on Britain’s handling of the Coronavirus can be interpreted wrongly, diplomatically. Obviously, you’ve never heard of the word “disclaimer”. You should have stated that your comments do not reflect the views of the PF and it’s government or indeed those of the president of the republic of Zambia. You government is already skating on thin ice with regards to donor aid from the UK and you on to insult them? Raise your game man, I’m sure you’ve still got some brains left before 2021. In other countries, you’d be sacked from whatever position you hold for doing what you’ve just done. Levy Mwanawasa…

  4. @ Zulu what donor aid ? You mean what is rightfully owed to zambia due to years of resource looting during Colonia era? You mean the resources that were used to build Britain at our expense? Learn your history. This muzungu is master complex needs to be done away with. Take that slavery out of your thick head.

  5. Infidels Baghdad Zulu – Please save your energy no need wasting it on a frustrated UK based impostor!!

  6. We need you Mushota, please come back.

We wait confirmation with bated breath. I need a break home to reset my mental health. But I’m doubting the COVID stats are fully compiled as yet to show a clear pattern. I feel a poem coming up!

Missing home, oh home where the Hippo and elephant roam
Oh give me a blast of ol’ Vic Falls where the water thunders into water smoke
But please oh please stop the opposition ruining my peaceful country
Oh missing you Zambia, the beauty in my eyes……oh aroooooooooo Zambia!!

  7. @ Kaizer Zulu, Hmmm, I was expecting a mature response from you, but I was obviously wrong. I can tell, the lift does not go all the way to the top floor in your head. What a pratt, the lights are on, but there’s nobody home.

  8. Infidels, if you ask f.o.olish question then you get a f.oolish response. What I have told you are facts..however the whlte man has brain washed you so much that if he told you to kill your own mother you would gladly do so.

  9. Anybody can make a case for PF government to get us the retired army generals our money from Madison Assets Management

  10. WELL DONE ECL
    THE HATERS LIKE TARINO HOMO
HAVE NOWHERE TO HIDE THEIR HATRED
    SHAME ON THEM

  11. We Need a balance of articles and see the beauty of positive promotions of Zambia like those EUROPEAN countries in attracting FDIs countries like moldova creating values in GDP thereby positioning as countries of the future

  12. Well, this should be accepted with a pinch of salt. What we should be doing is establishing the equivalent on the African Continent. we will not participate as equals and also they will not give us free travel status but only interested in trade of our raw materials

  13. that list is fake

The EU has named 14 countries whose citizens are deemed “safe” to be let in from 1 July, despite the pandemic – but the US, Brazil and China are excluded.

The countries include Australia, Canada, Japan, Morocco and South Korea
….On the current “safe” list, still likely to be amended, are Algeria, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia and Uruguay.

that’s the real list, so iwe kaiza stop with your day dreaming

  14. On the current “safe” list, still likely to be amended, are Algeria, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia and Uruguay.
    Zambia???? Keep Dreaming!

  15. so called chief editor, where did you get that list? it’s misleading.

Visitors from three African nations on EU safe list

Algeria, Morocco and Rwanda were approved

Algeria, Morocco and Rwanda are among 14 countries named by the European Union whose citizens are deemed “safe” to be let in from 1 July.

kaize you like kissing pf/lu ngu’s a rse. what has Zambia done? there’s no seriousness to the pandemic, whatever little Zambia is doing is just so they can be seen to be doing something. and you get you health minister faking having convid19 all because he was being investigated. I’d even respect Tanzania’s approach than Zambia’s half arsed work

  16. The Eu should be consistent. They don’t allow countries without freedom of speech to join them so they should even bar citizens especially politicians from countries without freedom of speech. Zambia Zimbabwe leadership should be top on that list
